At Male we had one kid from Oldham county, the rest Jefferson. 68 kids on the team.

 

I spoke of numbers. The three best public aschools SK/Eastern/Manual got beat by a total of 254-15 by X/Rocks. The best three. Can someone show me the county breakdowns?

 

The numbers don't lie, and people tell us..."you need to step it up".

If I had a program, I'd be happy to, along with the number from each parish in the Archdiocese. I actually did do that a few years ago when a similar conversation was happening.

Why do other states nearby like Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, and West Virginia not have two private schools with a large male enrollment winning all the big school titles and having all the non-private school followers constantly complaining?

Because none of those states have two big-city private schools with a significant enrollment advantage on every other school in the state.

In my opinion, most of the reason we have gone to this crappy six-class format is because of Trinity and St. Xavier.

 

Heck, I wouldn't have a problem with going back to four classes and having Trinity and St. Xavier by themselves in 5A.

11 - Highlands (1981, 1982, 1989, 1992, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2007, 2008)

11 - Beechwood (1984, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2004, 2005, 2008)

9 - Danville (1984, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1992, 1994, 2000, 2001, 2003)

6 - St. Xavier (1986, 1992, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2004)

Only 15 championships at the highest level of KY football since 1959 that have gone to a school other than St. X, Trinity, Flaget (no longer operating) or Louisville Male.

 

Only 6 championships at the highest level of KY football since 1959 have gone to schools outside Jefferson County. And those all came in a stretch from 1981 to 1996.

 

This is a no new news 'issue'. It has nothing to do with boundries, it has nothing to do with the 'R' word.

I have said before with only two schools for the most part winning the giggest class in football that the biggest class is the most boring. Not saying exciting football is not played it's just that end the end only (FOR THE MOST PART) 1 OF 2 WILL BE THE BIG SCHOOL WINNER.

 

I have no clue how to fix this besides saying something stupid like the other schools need to get better. I know if I was smart enough to be a coach my team would not play either of those schools until I was forced to come playoff time.

All of the 6A schools should gear up for the 2009 season as it looks to be a year that both Trinity and St. X will be retooling more than usual at many positions. Life at Trinity without Tim Phillips and most of the defense will be interesting and I believe a huge challenge for the coaches. At St. X replacing the best RB ever in their program and most of the rest of their team will also prove to be a big challenge. Not that these coaching staffs aren't up to the challenge, just that young and inexperienced players all over the field will be interesting to watch and hard to count on.

If the public powers don't win next year then they never will.

 

EVERY YEAR T & X graduates 50 seniors. If you look closely at both rosters, you will see that both teams look better off next year than they did a year ago at this time. GOOD LUCK!

Yes indeed, you publics need to step it up. Don't always look for crutches to prop up your lack of success. If our founders had used this philosophy we would still be a possession of Great Britain or, in the alternative, speaking German.

 

As long as you publics whine and cry for that "level playing field" (whatever that is), you will continue to be second best (or, in the case of Class 6A, third best).

 

Suck it up and work harder and remove sour grapes from your diet.
