Beechwood is the same. However, I find it amazing that Highlands and Beechwood can put out such great teams without high class equipment. A great tribute to the coaching staffs at both schools.:thumb:

I disagree. I think it is attributed to both their entire programs! From the top down; players, coaches, parents, alumni, student body, school administration, water boys/girls, trainers, etc, etc, etc. Truly complete programs!

What's the old saying, it takes a village to raise a child? or something like that!

I guess. Then again, what they have certainly works and it's hard to argue against that. I know from time to time folks have approached Dale about wanting to "upgrade" the weight room and I'm told Dale hasn't been interested in seeing money spent on the weight room. I guess he also feels that what they have works and it would make more sense to spend the money on more pressing athletic and academic needs for now. There still is a fundraising drive going on to finish much more needed improvements to the school buildings. If that's Dale's thinking, I have to agree with him. Athletics are great but academics are what will make our young men and women successful in their adult endeavors.

I think Mercer has a pretty good setup for their players.

I totally agree.. But when you look at Trinity's facility it kind of makes you wish the boys had something better.JMO

LN, does HHS still have the Hammer Strenght equipment from the late 80's coach Duffy era, or has it been replaced...Was the last upgrade done in 89 or so? If that's the case, I would have to say that the boys do deserve an upgrade every half dozen Championships or So! LOL:thumb:

To be honest with you, I don't know. I've only been in the weight room briefly in the last several years and really didn't pay much attention to what's in there, other than to know its a rather dingy, stuffy place. Sort of like a dungeon.

Raider, I understand where you are coming from. But there are those people that pride themselves with doing the most with the least.

And Crunch, I melted that 50 down years ago in retaliation. :D

The Marshall Center at Trinity is better than alot of colleges. It is State of the art. Not only does it support the football team, but all sports programs under the guidance of Bob Maddox. Trinity has been the National Power Lifting Champion for like 5 straight years as well under Bob's guidance. The 2009 Football Rocks went back to work yesterday lifting to capture #20 titles and 5 in a row!

Then go live in a tent...lol..

Just an update on the Montgomery County weightroom. They indians have an all new dumbell set. They have also bought weighted chains and medicine balls. It is amazing how great the facilites are.

When it comes to HHS football, this is the case ONLY with there weight and locker facilities. Which, obviously is not just a football issue. Everything else in the football program is top of the line...

Needless to say, I don't understand that logic.

It sure is, that's something all Indians should take pride in. I would love to see that place in person, that's very similar to Morhead's set-up, possibly nicer.
