I'm certainly no expert on Louisville 6A football.

 

But, as an outsider, it seems fairly obvious that its Trinity and then everyone else. St. X may have the talent and they may win a few against them...but they rarely win when it really counts.

 

Any thoughts on why this is? Isn't this twice in three years that X has handled T with relative ease only to lose in the playoffs? On the flipside, typically when T wins the regular season, they win the playoff game as well?

 

Why is this? Better coaching? Does X choke? Does Trinity play flawless football in these games?

 

Again, as an unbiased outsider, its pretty amazing to see how a program like Trinity continues to dominate, not only the lower tier of 6A, but also the team that is supposed to be its rival and its equal.

I think that "leave no doubt" worked very well.

 

I have no doubt that the Tigers are second to none when it comes to fighting back.

I have no doubt that Trinity is the best team in Kentucky.

I have no doubt that the Trinity coaching staff is the absolute best.

I have no doubt that the Trinity coaches and players look at defeat as an opportununity to work even harder and get better.

I have no doubt that Trinity is December's team.

I have no doubt that win, lose or draw, I am very proud to be a member of the Trrinity family.

Don't be too hard on them. This is starting to remind me of Charlie Brown and Lucy. Every year Mike Glaser thinks "this is the year I'm going to get that undefeated state champ". And every year, at the last minute, Bob Beatty pulls it away from him. AGGGGGH!

Being a betting man, I would be willing to wager that almost all 137 of these pollsters truly felt as if the Tigers would pull out the victory. I would also wager that of the 48 that voted Rocks, at least half voted with their heart and not how they truly believed the outcome would pan out. A better question is why are many posters in your own backyard obvious omissions from the pollsters representing this whopping 26%. Did they not have enough faith in your team to vote for them?

 

Congrats Rocks-you deserved the victory and pulled off the upset AGAIN! My son pointed out a couple of years ago 2 key areas that obviously take the Rocks to the next level in playoff time to surpass the Tigers and I have to admit he appears correct. Until the Tigers figure it out I expect much of the same.

 

Hold your heads up Tigers-great year and coming up on the short end against a formidable opponent is no reason to get down. We are all very proud of how you battled back to make it a game. X will be back-the 90's weren't that long ago and you never know the next decade may be ours again. Looking forward to it.
