I seem to remember back in 03 or 04 Highlands rolled into Bell County as heavy favorites, and left with the loss. Many back them said that Bell could not compete, in fact alot of the stuff beign said here was being said back then.

 

My point is that whatever is said here has no bearing on the game. It really makes no difference if Whitley "hits" harder than Highlands or that Highlands is "faster" than Whitley. What matters is the heart of the warrior, I really don't think that anyone here can question the heart of either team. That is not to say that Bell had a bigger, or more heart than Highlands back then or that the winner will have a bigger or more heart than the loser on Friday, what I am saying is that you can't measure or even guess at the heart of the opponent when you get to this point in the season.

 

Sometimes teams win that have "no chance" I look forward to the game and seeing both teams compete at a championship level. This is the game that kids train for and not eveyone gets the chance to play in a game of this nature.

 

Although if you read most of what is here it is a forgone conclusion that Highlands will win, but it is not, just wait till Friday, sit back and enjoy becuase this is going to be a great game.

No. They went to state in 2003 and 2004. Went 1-1 against Boyle County. They lost in Rockcastle in 2001 or 2002. That might be the game you're thinking of.

Highlands won the game against Bell in '04. Good try though it was a good game and Highlands went on to win State that year!!!

I had read 6 pages worth of predictions and discussion and have come to realize that picking HHS in anything resembling a close game is a real insult to some. Someone from NKY picked HHS by only a TD and it is considered a sign of disrespect? Simply amazing.

 

Should HHS be the favorite? Absolutely. Heck, I picked HHS to win. They have done it so well for so many years that it is awfully hard to pick against them. However, does Whitley have a chance? Absolutely. I have seen bigger upsets happen. But Whitley will have to bring their 'A' game against HHS. I think that Whitley has a better chance than JCHS as they do throw the ball a little bit better and overall, I think run it better as well. However, I think the primary difference will be that HHS is truly a more balanced offensively than WCHS. However, if WCHS can force a grind it out type of game and control the clock as well as limiting HHS to very few 'big plays', they have a shot.

Don't get the Bell Co. fans started on that game....................much like the name "Moses" not allowed to be spoken in Egypt, "Mitchell" is still not allowed to be spoken on Log Mtn.

 

Highlands should win this game, probably will, although I believe that the Colonels will make a game of it.
