Not discrediting your opinion or ripping you or anything like that, just wondering your reasons for saying its not even close? IMO Zep is the better band. Although both are solid definitions of what a band is with solid unity and a solid togetherness sound, I just got to think the excitement and mysticism from a Zeppelin show is far more outstanding than that of a Beatles show. Page's riffs and solo's destroy's Lenon's anyday, and Plant's vocals are just amazing. What gives Zeppelin the edge IMO is the fact that they can play so many different types of music and make it sound so good. I mean some of their stuff even sounds bluegrass. Don't get me wrong, the Beatles are good, but IMO they didn't get good until they started doing drugs, before that they were just a bunch of pretty boy popsters. Then not too long after they got on drugs, they all went their seperate ways. Zeppelin stayed together until the tragic end, and with the death of Bonham. Only playing one show since, and it took thirty years after the fact for them to ever play that. Just interested in hearing your take. I give the nod to Zeppelin just on mystique and character along, not to even mention the great music they produced.

November 16, 200817 yr The Rolling Stones rock all other bands' faces. Their good stuff makes it easy to forget the dancy-Nancy phases that Jagger occasionally went through.

November 16, 200817 yr I certainly don't want to discourage this debate, but I think it's extremely hard to rank something as subjective as rock bands and think anyone can decide who is the definitive number one. After all, beauty is in the eye (or ear) of the beholder. That said, here are some of MY favorite bands that I also think have made a mark on rock music. Pearl Jam Stone Temple Pilots Journey ACDC And I really tend to like the Rolling Stones
November 16, 200817 yr For me it'd have to be Guns-N-Roses. They are by far my all time favorite Rock band. I still have all of their older cd's. After them, Led Zepplin, Lynard Skynard, Metallica, Aerosmith, and Nirvana all were great groups that I enjoyed listening to growing up.
November 16, 200817 yr I said KISS and Fleetwood Mac going by the criterion. If just talking about favorites, it would be REO Speedwagon, Kansas, Boston, Bad Company, CCR, Skynard, and the Charlie Daniels Band. I also liked Marshall-Tucker Band, the Almond Bros, and Wet Willie!
