October 28, 200817 yr Trading down sounds good, but this draft doesn't really have that star player at #1. Also the salaries at the top of the draft have gotten so out of hand, it makes it even less appealing.

October 28, 200817 yr The real question in this scenario is would anyone seriously be willing to trade up to the #1 spot? Unless it is a franchise changing type player, who is worth trading up to that position. It is almost a death trap with the #1 selection. I think that's a much better possibility this year with some of the potential QB's in this draft. Considering that's one of the few positions Cincy doesn't really need, they could use that as leverage for a team that wanted to jump up and grab their guy. Its not a certainty, but definitely possible. I think this could be a good year to have the top pick. I think there's a reasonable chance that the Bengals could make a good deal and still get what they need (OT or DT). There's probably going to be three top notch OT's in this draft...Smith ('Bama), Oher (Ole Miss) and Eugene Monroe (Virginia). That should give the Bengals the leeway to swap down a few spots, because they should be able to get at least one of those three.

Willie Anderson- That one shining moment. Every blind squirrel finds a nut. Reinard Wilson- Loser, couldnt stop a soul or get to the QB. Takeo Spikes- decent but cried until they traded him. Akili Smith- 2nd worst QB ever to don the stripes. Took the money and ran. Still spending that dough probably. Peter Warrick- thug, never really amounted to much. Had one good year where he returned punts like a nut. Justin Smith- overhyped, never really did anything but earn a franchise tag and steal money from the 49ers cuz of it. Levi Jones- Had 2 decent years and now is HORRIBLE and SLOW. Carson Palmer- Had 2 good years and then got hurt and career has gone downhill ever since. Take off the blinders folks. Admit it. Chris Perry- soft, stole money for 2 yrs faking injuries, cant hold onto the ball. NEXT. David Pollack- overhyped, not worthy of a 1st pick IMO. Great guy and wish he was on the roster but as you see another lost draft pick. Jonathon Joseph- cant cover my 87 yr old grandma Leon Hall- undersized and avg at best. LOL I agree with everything up to Peter Warrick Peter Warrick-Played on teams with no QB and not other receivers his first few years. Had a good 2003 season once had some help, and then plays hurt to try to help team make the playoffs and was never the same. Justin Smith-Overrated. Decent DE who goes non stop, but should not be making the money he does Levi Jones-Was basically a Pro Bowl LT for 3 years and shut down all kinds of elite pass rushers. But now looks like those knee injuries have slowed him down. Was good pick at the time. Carson Palmer- I don't see why you all say he had two good seasons and then got hurt. His first season starting he was decent and got it going at the end before he got hurt. Didn't make Pro Bowl that year. 2005 he was great. 2006 the year after his surgery he was also great. I really don't know how you all don't see that. There is a reason he was a pro bowl MVP that year. He also put his team in positions to make the playoffs, but other parts screwed it up. 2007 well still had decent numbers just not as good as the two before. He also had no running game. This year got hurt. I think people need to take the blinders off and realize Palmer when healthy is still one of the best in the league, but since the 2005 season things around him have gotten worst. So did draft a Franchise QB here and still is one... Chris Perry- Obviously now shouldn't have picked him. But its easy to say something after you see the results. Injury prone whole career as well. David Pollack- overhyped? Every team had him going in the first round. The thing with him is IMO we should have kept him at DE and not switched him to LB. So was a good pick at the time. Joseph-Another good pick. I mean we could have two pro bowl corners and they still would get beat right now since we have no pass rush. Hall-Same as above Rivers-Going to be a good one. IMO 6 out of the last 7 years we have actually done pretty good in the 1st round of the draft. Its the rounds after that, where we have really done bad...
