Bengals 1st Round Draft Pick

Featured Replies

Now that the Bengals are 0-8 and looking down the schedule at a losing record, what position and player should they take in the upcoming NFL draft?

If we get the number 1 pick, I'd like to see us trade down a few slots, pick a lineman, and hopefully get another lineman early One pick won't help this team

David Klingler

John Copeland

Dan Wilkinson

Ki Jana Carter

Willie Anderson

Reinard Wilson

Takeo Spikes

Akili Smith

Peter Warrick

Justin Smith

We all know how poor it has been. What else do we have to look forward to during an 0-8 season?

I'm thinking O-line as well.

Andre Smith out of Bama wouldn't be a bad choice.

The real question in this scenario is would anyone seriously be willing to trade up to the #1 spot? Unless it is a franchise changing type player, who is worth trading up to that position. It is almost a death trap with the #1 selection.

I expect the Lions to beat us out for the #1 pick and take Stafford.

I think lineman as well, but i'm not sure if it should be offensive or defensive. Either way it will fill a need, if they draft well. They most certainly will flub it up and we may be asking this same question next year.

:thumb: About 5 OL. 3 DL 2 LBs and an RB.

That is who McShay had listed as the Bengals #1 pick if the draft were held today...

1. Cincinnati Bengals (Record: 0-7) -- Andre Smith*, OT, Alabama

Drafting a running back with the first overall pick is risky business, which is why the Bengals would pass on Ohio State RB Chris Wells here, assuming Wells comes out. Cincinnati needs help in the trenches on both sides of the ball, and Smith appears to be a franchise-type left tackle prospect. The 6-foot-5, 350-pound junior displays good initial quickness and overwhelming strength.

I expect the Lions to beat us out for the #1 pick and take Stafford.

2. Detroit Lions (0-6) -- Sam Bradford*, QB, Oklahoma

It's unlikely Bradford will leave school after his redshirt sophomore season, but he is eligible to do so, and I would select Bradford over any quarterback in the country right now. He receives high marks in all the skill sets important to evaluating a quarterback, including mental capacity, toughness, intangibles, leadership, accuracy, release quickness, footwork and arm strength.

^^ Orlovsky has not been looking too bad so far with his job as the Lions starting QB. If his good play continues, I don't see the lions taking a QB first round.

Heard they wanted recievers:lol:

I think the Bengals, if they get the number 1 pick, should try to trade down to around the #4 slot and pick up another 1st rounder or a couple 2nd rounders. My guy would be Michael Oher OT out of Ole Miss....

Trade down and get additional picks. Way too many holes in this team. They need all the help they can get.
