I believe we are talking best RB in NKY. Trimble Co, Frankfort, and Eminence aren't NKY schools.

I'm sorry I guess they are North Central KY teams but they do still have to play NKY in the playoffs. And I would beg to argue that anyone of the boys I mentioned would be just as dominant as the ones you are giving if they where playing behind those lines, ie Beechwood, Bellevue etc. Just my opinion now.:thumb:

I haven't seen any of the players you mentioned so I can't comment on them but I guess we'll find out come playoff time. :thumb:

All I have to say is that people are giving Josh Conner way too much credit. He is a good running-back, but lets face it, anyone with a spec of athleticism can be a good running-back behind highlands' o-line. Put Conner behind many of the other lines and nky and he might not even be in this discussion. :thumb:

Just curious, have you seen him live? A real treat.

I like that, lol, He obviously hasn't seen this kid play.

No, Yes, and It was only a compliment to the O-line

If you would have left out your last sentence I could see your point.

The O-line at Highlands cares about one stat only...W's!! They take great pride in the yards that the RB's amass. They will also be the first to tell you that a back who doesn't need much of a hole and breaks tackles makes THEM look good, too!

I swear cchukred7 is not a relative of mine.:D:thumb:

Josh Conner is the best RB in nky hands down. Boone has a good Rb in Quainoo but he also has a very good line blocking for him. Simpson has break away speed and is a punishing RB and puts up big numbers despite having a very poor o line which is why he is soo good IMO because he can create without having good blocking by turning it up outside.

If I had to rank them I'd go something like this:

1. Conner- HHS

2. Simpson- SK

3. Quainoo- BC

4. Teipel- Beechwood

Buckler is good but he isn't in the same discussion as those four IMO.

IMO you could take any of these backs put them on any of the others teams and they would still have a great degree of success. All are great running backs for their teams. :ylsuper:

Eta just for your information IMO Buckler is pound for pound ( 5'6" 150 lb ) the best. And just a junior at that. Next time you post try not to make it so negative against a great kid.:fire:

I didn't see where Eta said anything negative about Buckler, in fact to the contrary, he was complimentary of him, he only stated the opinion that he thought the others were better.

I have seen Buckler and have been impressed, I have also seen Simpson a few times and likewise been impressed. I have seen Josh Conner many many times and he is really a phenomenal talent right up there with the best at Highlands ever and I honestly don't believe the others are nearly as good. That's just my opinion and I mean no ill towards the others who really are great talents. :thumb:

You also have to realize those kids are putting up just as impressive numbers as Buckler despite having less carries. My main point that I was trying to get across was that Buckler is a good running back who fits the Bellevue system well which is why he puts up the numbers he does, but if you put Simpson, Conner, Quainoo, or Teipel against the same competition behind that same o line night in and night out, they would no doubt in my mind put up the same numbers, if not better numbers and do it not having 20+ carries a game.

I never once said anything bad about the kid but rather that as good as he is, I just didnt feel he had the explosiveness, athleticism, or strength that the aformentioned backs have.

Hopefully we will get to see Conner get about fifteen carries this week against LexCath

Okay before everyone rips what I say I do agree Josh Conner would be the best running back, most likely in all the state.

BUT Buckler is putting his numbers up (doesn't matter who against) with a quarterback that is throwing for about 200 yds on the year and almost all of that in one game. He is putting up those numbers with a line that is for the most part smaller than all the other running backs in this discussion. So yes if BELLEVUE played the big boys he wouldn't do too much, BUT if Buckler was on Highlands, Boone Countys, or even Beechwoods roster, I'm sure he would put up the numbers, it's just a different game in each of these classes.

No matter how he's doing it, or who he's doing it aganst he has the lead in NKY for points scored, and is second in rushing... So again all great running backs, but Buckler is in the same category...
