Conner is a solid running back, but my money is on Simpson. He is just more talented and a more gifted athelte. He is able to do things on the field that no runner in NKY can do, behind a shaky line at SK. He will be at a mid-major to low high major college, He is already being recruited by Louisville and UC that I know of.

C'mon...why is he wrong? Because in his opinion Dayton and Ludlow are terrible. You said if they were in another district they'd make noise down state. What's the old saying..."If you want to be the best, beat the best" or something along those lines. Beat Beechwood and/or NCC and that respect will come. Until then (even if I may not necessarily agree) Eta is entitled to his opinion.

When the question is who is the best RB in NKY, you're going to get an apples to oranges comparison. I'm sure all the kids mentioned are really good athletes and people. You just can't really answer the question. Different schools, different classifications, different schedules, different teammates(sizes and strengths), different coaching....just to many variables to come up with a concrete "BEST" RB.

Conner's been around for a few years and if he stays healthy and plays in all the games, then his statistics are the measuring stick for NKY RB's.

Would Buckler start at RB if Conner played at Bellevue? Would Buckler start at RB if he went to Highlands? While I'm sure he's a fine young man and a very good athlete, it's hard to compare and get an answer everyone can live with and agree who's number 1.

He could very possibly be the fourth guy behind Conner, Crawford, and Head. That should put this convo into perspective for the Buckler Homers.

I said they would make some noise in the state tournament. Yeah in the end yeah Beechwood would still eventually get them. However if they were in other districts they would actually make noice and advance further than they normally do up here in a district with Beechwood. So yeah when people see them making it further, then it definitely shows that they are not "terrible" as he said. If those teams were terrible, then they would be some of the worst teams in the state in 1A, which they definitely are not. I think you know that as well, which would then also go against his statement about the being "terrible". Now am I saying they are great teams no they are not. I mean they work with what they have, and what they have is usually still some of the better teams in 1A and definitely once again not "terrible" as he says. So unless there is a no definition out there about what terrible means that I don't know about, then he is wrong. If he was using it to compare to teams in NKY, then it was just a horrible comparison then too. So as I said in my last post, it was a very poor choice of words he had about it...

Now as for the rest of your post, about the runningbacks. You are dead on, there really is no way to know for sure who is the best. There are way to many variables to look at as you said. :thumb:

I guess to your point it depends on the definition of terrible.

If the measuring stick(word combo of the day:D) is State Titles, then yes, there are a lot of "terrible" schools out there.

A good point was brought up in another post, Crawford has filled in for Conner with very little or any drop off in production. He too should be part of this discussion.:thumb:

Again...different people have different opinions. Last time I checked opinions could be right or wrong depending on how different people perceve them. And as I stated EARLIER I was comparing them to the other teams in nky. If someone disagrees with my assessment, who cares? I sure don't.

That's the reason people get on here though is to express their own individual thoughts and as long as they're staying in line of BGP rules it really doesn't matter what they say. :thumb:

Give it up already...Dayton and Ludlow are terrible...:eek::eek: I said it!!!!

Sure, stats wise Buckler may be in the same category with those players but can you honestly tell me you'd take him over any of the other backs mentioned if you're a college coach?

I'm not trying to down the young man at all, as I have said time after time he is a very good back and fits in well in the Bellevue system. But there's no way he has the same kind of explosiveness, strength, and athleticism as the 4 other backs mentioned.

Eta have you seen Buckler in person? Do you know his work ethic? Have you seen his practice? Have you seen the heart and love of football this kid has? For a guy that say I"M not trying to put him down you keep putting him down. If your not putting him down then there is no but. You keep adding buts. Once you add the word but everything said before is a lie.

Why not simply say in your opinion JC is the best. Don't add the buts.

I think people are being a little oversensitive with the whole Buckler issue. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I agree that the competition that Buckler is facing is nowhere NEAR what the others are facing, but i have never seen this Buckler kid so I won't comment on his abilities. That being said, if you don't agree with what someone says, that doesn't mean they are wrong, and it doesn't mean they are putting the kid down. I don't think Simpson is the best rb in nky, but I think he is one of the best. I'm not putting him down, I'm just saying I think Conner and Tiepel are better. No one is ripping me. I don't know, I say get a straw and suck it up?

This is the way a post should read you don't say someone doesn't belong or say they aren't in same category. You simply give your opinion of who is best. You've gotten your opinion across without being negative about a kid. Whom we all know read these post.

While I don't think Eta Rho said anything out of line, I actually think he is a classy guy [or girl maybe, who knows lol, I'm a girl so it can happen!] I do agree that we all know that the kids DO read these forums to read all the mindless and totally unintelligent crud we all have to say and whether or not they take it to heart is up to them, but I know if it were me, it would be hard not to, so I definitely see where you're coming from.

Once he gets back to full strength there wont be a need for this poll. I hate to say it but JC is stronger and faster than any of those backs.

I really like Miles Simpson and his size and speed as well as potential but he will be a DB in college.

Ricky Buckler has great speed as well and might be the toughest RB in NKY. He will go down as one of the best RB's at Bellevue and they have a great history with the Sutkamps, Millers, Hissongs and ADams names being thrown around.

Conner is really good. Boone just produces running backs...Ferris, Alford, Beckett, Rudd...quite a leap their era wise.

Simpson is a strong back and I witnessed his performance against Dixie. Impressive. I still wonder if he has that major D-1 speed needed to get the offers from the majors. I agree q, he may project as a better DB than RB.

People, the personal stuff needs to stop, and stop right now. If you have personal issues, take them to PM's. And, the thread needs to stay on topic. If someone wants to discuss the best RB, then start a new thread, if someone wants to discuss the best teams in NKY, then start a separate thread.
