Okay before everyone rips what I say I do agree Josh Conner would be the best running back, most likely in all the state.

BUT Buckler is putting his numbers up (doesn't matter who against) with a quarterback that is throwing for about 200 yds on the year and almost all of that in one game. He is putting up those numbers with a line that is for the most part smaller than all the other running backs in this discussion. So yes if BELLEVUE played the big boys he wouldn't do too much, BUT if Buckler was on Highlands, Boone Countys, or even Beechwoods roster, I'm sure he would put up the numbers, it's just a different game in each of these classes.

No matter how he's doing it, or who he's doing it aganst he has the lead in NKY for points scored, and is second in rushing... So again all great running backs, but Buckler is in the same category...

Sure, stats wise Buckler may be in the same category with those players but can you honestly tell me you'd take him over any of the other backs mentioned if you're a college coach?

I'm not trying to down the young man at all, as I have said time after time he is a very good back and fits in well in the Bellevue system. But there's no way he has the same kind of explosiveness, strength, and athleticism as the 4 other backs mentioned.

If you go back and read post #50 you still owe two schools an apology for something you said earlier in this thread. Because you were dead wrong in something you said earlier...

Just because people have different opinions doesn't mean they're wrong. That's why it's an opinion. It can be right or wrong depending on how different people perceive it. This is an OPEN FORUM for all to discuss their opinions. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on that matter. Nothing wrong with that. :thumb:

Nope you are wrong. Sorry...

As I said yeah when you compare them to rest of teams in NKY, then yeah they are terrible if that is what you compare them too and that just would not be a fair comparison. I mean most of NKY is bigger schools and then Beechwood who is basically a big school with all the players they have every year. When talking about just 1A they are not terrible. I mean terrible would be being like the worst teams in 1A and well Ludlow and Dayton are definitely not that. As I said before if they were not in same district as Beechwood, all three teams Bellevue, Ludlow and Dayton would be able to make noise in the state playoffs. I mean just within the last 5 years these teams if not in same district as Beechwood and well NCC for awhile. These teams would make noise in the playoffs. These schools just wont get noticed because every year they in district with team who usually wins the state title. So not going to get notice from anyone, but when they do play other 1A schools from around the state, they usually win. I mean alot of times you see are 3 and 4 seeds beating the other districts top seeds in the playoffs. And well you probably will see that again this year. So yeah my friend, that definitely does not constitute them being called terrible, because they are not. When compare to their own schools in their class, they are by far from terrible as you say...

This really has nothing to with this thread. If I offended you I apologize but that's just my opinion when I compare them to the other schools in nky. Again, we'll just have to agree to disagree on this matter.

Back to the thread topic...

Let's be realistic here. Buckler is a fine RB but he is playing the likes of Dayton(not bashing) while Josh Conner and Co. are playing nationally ranked teams and putting up the same stats. There is no way you can convince me that Buckler could have just as much productivity at Highlands, Sk, or any of the bigger schools. He doesn't have the size, strength, or explosiveness to compete on the level on the Josh Conner's of the world. Buckler is a pretty good back who runs as hard as anyone and gives 110%, but bottomline isn't in the same category as these guys. :thumb:

Yeah if you compare them to other schools in NKY, then yeah your right. And that would just be a HORRIBLE comparison. So it was a comparison that was not needed and definitely would offend people when saying some schools are terrible, when that is not true at all...

Again...Just going to have to agree to disagree. Back to the thread topic though as this has nothing to do with what's being discussed in this thread.

Now that I think of it, my top goes like this.

1. Conner

2. Quianno

3. Simpson

4. Tiepel

5. Roenker-Not a homer pick here guys, watch him, it's the real deal.

Buckler falls somewhere else in the top ten most likely.

Your right, just like calling teams terrible had nothing to do with this thread. Especially when that is not true at all and just very uncalled for...If you were trying to make a point, then you used a very poor choice of words for that...And now I will just leave it at that.

I agree, Roenker should be added. I would say Quianno is number 1 based on the numbers, but Conner is very good. See what Buckler does against Beechwood and I believe he'll be judged, but thats just MO.

I'm not sold on Buckler at all... And he's 5'5"-130 Lbs... He's not 5'6"-150 Lbs. like everyone has been saying. Why is everone trying to make him seem bigger than he really is?

I think Clint Crawford of HHS should be in this conversation. He has proven, in JC's absence, that he is one of NKY's finest!!

Nope you are wrong

C'mon...why is he wrong? Because in his opinion Dayton and Ludlow are terrible. You said if they were in another district they'd make noise down state. What's the old saying..."If you want to be the best, beat the best" or something along those lines. Beat Beechwood and/or NCC and that respect will come. Until then (even if I may not necessarily agree) Eta is entitled to his opinion.

When the question is who is the best RB in NKY, you're going to get an apples to oranges comparison. I'm sure all the kids mentioned are really good athletes and people. You just can't really answer the question. Different schools, different classifications, different schedules, different teammates(sizes and strengths), different coaching....just to many variables to come up with a concrete "BEST" RB.

Conner's been around for a few years and if he stays healthy and plays in all the games, then his statistics are the measuring stick for NKY RB's.

Would Buckler start at RB if Conner played at Bellevue? Would Buckler start at RB if he went to Highlands? While I'm sure he's a fine young man and a very good athlete, it's hard to compare and get an answer everyone can live with and agree who's number 1.
