I agree he didn't do anything but it is hard to get yards when you don't have anyone blocking at all.

It's also hard to do much as a running back when you start off playing come back having to pass the ball.

Josh Conner is the best RB in nky hands down. Boone has a good Rb in Quainoo but he also has a very good line blocking for him. Simpson has break away speed and is a punishing RB and puts up big numbers despite having a very poor o line which is why he is soo good IMO because he can create without having good blocking by turning it up outside.

If I had to rank them I'd go something like this:

1. Conner- HHS

2. Simpson- SK

3. Quainoo- BC

4. Teipel- Beechwood

Buckler is good but he isn't in the same discussion as those four IMO.

How can you leave him out? He is top in scoring and number two in rushing I believe. Also look at the size of the people you are talking about. Buckler is five six one fifty and runs the ball like a man on fire and is a work horse for Bellevue. When you talk of the best in the area you can't leave him out. Also no disrespect but Conner doesn't have the numbers of these other guys. How are we even sure he is the same running back?

So you think If Bellevue played the same schedule as Beechwood, Highlands, SK, or Boone Buckler would put up the same numbers? I doubt it very seriously. Buckler is a nice player for his size but look at the competition he has put the numbers up against.

Bellevue is an above average single A team in nky who plays below average single a teams in Brossart, Paris, Ludlow, Dayton, and Bracken Co which is the reason for his numbers. Look at what he did against NCC and that proves my point. Bellevue's schedule is VERY weak.

And Josh Conner has been out with an injury all year but is still the best in NKY. He proved his soph and junior year why he is not only the best in nky but also one of the best in the state. He averaged something ridiculous like 13 ypc his junior year, and it would have been more had he not had many runs or 5 yards or less for TD's.

He broke his leg.. The non weight bareing bone.. If you are trying to compare Buclker to Conner you haven't seen much high school football. I'm not saying that Ricky isn't good because he is. Josh is just on another level than Buckler. Josh was up for Mr.Football before his injury that in itself should tell you enough..:thumb:

Probably being a "homer" here but I think Quainoo is the best in NKY. I haven't seen the two RBs from the smaller schools so i cant say anything about them, but with being 1A schools the competition they run against IMO is weaker than the 6A schools. Miles Simpson didn't do anything against a good defense in Boone Co. so of course i wasn't impressed in him.

Then using this argument, the line blocking is probally weaker and the pasing is weaker. So IMO, the back has to accomplish more on his own. Hmmm, kind of makes sense to me.

Josh Conner (HHS):thumb:

Once he gets back to full strength there wont be a need for this poll. I hate to say it but JC is stronger and faster than any of those backs.

I really like Miles Simpson and his size and speed as well as potential but he will be a DB in college.

Ricky Buckler has great speed as well and might be the toughest RB in NKY. He will go down as one of the best RB's at Bellevue and they have a great history with the Sutkamps, Millers, Hissongs and ADams names being thrown around.

You cant make this comparison because JC has an entire different line and other backs and receivers blocking for him.

If you put some of those other backs in a Highlands uniform I am sure they would excel also.

With that said, I still think JC is the best in NKY. Just ask the Beechwood Defense who he obliterated in the 1st pre season scrimmage.

See my post. Bellevue is an ABOVE AVERAGE 1A school playing against BELOW AVERAGE 1A schools which is the reason Buckler is putting up the kinds of numbers he is. Many times Bellevue is going to have bigger players than the opposition which is the reason they run so much. Why pass when you don't have to. Paris, Bracken Co, Dayton, and Ludlow are horrible teams. (No disrespect to any of them, but its true.)

Against better competition though Buckler has been shut down. See NCC. (33 yds on 17 carries) If Buckler were playing at a school like Highlands, Boone, NCC, SK, or Beechwood I can almost guarantee he wouldn't see the time he's seeing now at Bellevue and wouldn't start at any of those schools over the above mentioned backs.

He would also have a tough time consistently carrying the ball 20+ times against the same competition that those backs see night in and night out. Let's face it, the teams in 5A and 6A are much bigger than the ones Bellevue is seeing and much more athletic. Many teams have 5 or more players fast or faster than Buckler.

Buckler is a good back for the competition he's playing and fits perfectly in the Bellevue system but IMO is no where near on the level of Teipel, Simpson, Quainoo, or Conner. Those kids would put up monster numbers playing at Bellevue and probably on less carries than Buckler.

Good points but what if Buckler was the starting RB at Highlands? Are you saying he wouldnt be successfull. We know he would probably not be a starter there but good RB's can excel in most situations because of their athletic ability and the team they have around them. I think that if Ricky had the athletes blocking for him that Highlands does then he would be a good running back in that offense as well.

Very legitimate points and I tend to agree with you more often than not. I guess a better way to put it is, if JC, Simpson, Quainoo, or Teipel were in a Bellevue uniform, do you honestly think they wouldn't put up the same if not better numbers than what Buckler is putting up and probably on less carries?

Buckler fits the Bellevue system well and is good for the competition he plays against. But any of the above named backs would put up better number playing at Bellevue with the same kids blocking for them.

Its all good, they are all somewhat different backs as well.

JC is more of a deceptively fast strong RB who can run you over.

Simpson is more of a horse who can get to the boundary with lightning fast speed and he is huge.

Teipel is in the same mold as Simpson.

Buckler is small and fast but he runs as if he is a workhorse. He has a ton of carries and takes some shots.

Qainoo I have not seen but I am sure he is pure athleticism and speed at its best.

I know both personally and it doesn't matter what they are listed as Simpson is much bigger than Teipel.

No doubt he'd be successful but simply because Highlands has great kids to block for him. But what separated JC, Teipel, SImpson, and Quainoo from Buckler is their athletic ability to get away from defenders after the 3 yards and a cloud of dust. I just really don't think Buckler is explosive as the above backs. JC has good blocking, but let's face it...that kid is strong as an ox and much of the time just needs a decent block as he has the explosiveness to get past arm tackles and make a move past the secondary to be off to the races. Same goes for Teipel, SImpson, and Quainoo.
