  1. Even though I said I wouldn't post anymore, I have to thank oldguy for this post. Thank you for this post. It made my day that someone knows what I am talking about. *My mistake,it was pee wee lewis who did a lot for the weight room makeover not the infidel. The Infidel is a volunteer who broadcasts every football game, even though he doesn't have a kid on the team.
  2. BTW, there was no need to put names, and name calling. That just shows me your credibility in this matter. I guess you must be working for Brossart? The team mom wasn't going to do it this year but PARENTS asked her to because they appreciate what she and she loves the kids. Without the hill billy and the infidel there wouldn't have been a complete makeover of the entire weight room, locker room, and coaches office that Brossart loves so much. Last thing I am done with this because I actually have a life and don't need to call people names on a message board
  3. I think Cov Cath tradition is also winning which Brossart doesn't seem to do much of. The offenses are not even close. Coach Rodenburg ran a spread offense. He ran most of his plays through the shotgun formation. If Coach Rodenburg would have stayed the next year at Cov Cath we would would have had a much better chance at state. We had Buckley, Schneider, Cason, Klare, Punch and Furnish who were the perfect types of players for Rodenburg's offense. It seems that Brossart runs four plays, run left, run right, run up the middle, and the occasional play action pass. He uses the shotgun formation maybe twice a game.
  4. As a past player under Coach R it is my opinion that he gave plenty of attention to the JV teams. The JV teams were always competitive and beat some of the best teams in the region. As for the rumor I do not believe that it is true and even if it was the Cov Cath administration would not allow it. Even though he was a great football coach he was a terrible teacher. When Cov Cath hires a new coach they look at teaching first and coaching second. But I also believe that Cov Cath needs to find a new coach and fast. While coach Brossart's idea for starting a seventh and eighth grade teams was great he still does not have respect for the players, parents, and tradition of Cov Cath football. Rodenburg left the program with a solid foundation and well trained players. Brossart just brought in an offense that is out dated and will never be effective. Many players, parents, and alumni are not happy and I think that Cov Cath needs to make a change.
  5. IMO Josh Blesser should replace Ellison. Ellison was good but he acted more like a running back while he played under Coach Rodenburg's offense. Blesser was a much better passer and led Cov Cath to a state title.
  6. No, Yes, and It was only a compliment to the O-line
  7. All I have to say is that people are giving Josh Conner way too much credit. He is a good running-back, but lets face it, anyone with a spec of athleticism can be a good running-back behind highlands' o-line. Put Conner behind many of the other lines and nky and he might not even be in this discussion. :thumb:
  8. IMO there was more talent in last years team. Last years team had more speed and better wide receivers with players like Buckley, Furnish, Schneider, Punch and Cason. The team also had a much better defense with linebackers Bruegemann, Jacobs, Van Sant, and Restle. It also had a better secondary with Faygle, Tibbs, and Furnish at safety. Either way no team under Coach Brossart will be able to move the ball because his offense is to slow developing. Teams now have so much speed that they can shut down the play before it even begins. If last years team was coached by Coach Rodemburg they would have done much better during the regular season and would have made it a much closer game against highlands in the playoffs.
  9. Cov Cath - 0 Elder - 42 Coach Brossart's offense couldn't move the ball against Highlands and struggled to move the ball against Beechwood. If his offense can't move the ball against these teams there is no way they can move the ball against Elder.
