Ohio Dem Secretary of State Bans Observers From Same Day Registration & Voting!!

Recommended Posts

Quite the different tone from the link RTS provided us.
The Columbus Dispatch is a liberal rag. I thought it would be more to your liking but the facts are the same in both accounts. The Democratic Sec. of State has been sued for not allowing observers at the sites where early voting is being done.

But for legal reasons, not just because she has a whim to rig the election, as the first article would lead you to believe.

That's her story and she's sticking to it. That was also her justification for rejecting thousands of Republican absentee ballot applications because a box was not checked. The Ohio Supreme Court agreed with Republicans and ruled in favor of the McCain/Palin campaign.

At least the Dispatch got her side of the story.

The real story is that Democrats have worked diligently to make vote fraud easier and the 2008 election is their big chance to steal one. There is no justification for not requiring voters to prove citizenship and identity before casting a vote - except to facilitate fraud. Regardless of who wins in November, there will be a backlash against Democrats for attempting to steal the election through fraud.

I find this issue intersting. THe attention on Ohio probably stems from not only it's proximity to many of the members of our board, but also to its importance as a battleground state.

It's a perfect opportunity for them to come in, register at a temporary address like a homeless shelter or a YMCA or something like that. They can register at that address because they don't know where they're going to be tomorrow or next week."

Ohio law says you must be a regular or consistent inhabitant of a particular shelter that you intend to return to. Of course that person must present proper identification under Ohio law(photo ID not required) Homeless people have been allowed to vote in Ohio for a long time under this provision. They just could not register and cast an absentee ballot the same day. In issues of fairness, currently any Ohio citizen can cast an absentee ballot after registering the same day.

Jennifer Brunner has also directed county boards of elections to deny absentee ballots to thousands of qualified Ohio electors who support Senator John McCain who fail to check a box that was not mandated by Ohio law.

The Ohio Supreme Court orderd that all of these absentee ballots be restored. The issue was with absentee ballot turned in by the McCain supporters being allegedly flawed. The court never said that those ballots were flawed or not, but undue technicall interpretations of the law, were not needed.

OH SoS rejecting election observers; Perfect vehicle for election fraud

The law states that observers may be present for counting of absentee ballots. The Sec of State does not see that provision for the casting of absentee ballots. The Sixth Circuit court overturned a temporary injunction to allow the observers.

There is a fear that people that have homes in forclosure will not be allowed to vote. Stories from liberal groups in Michigan especially are using this as a fear tactic. It is absolutley not true. If your home is in forclosure in Michigan or Ohio, there are provisions in the law that keep these voters on the rolls.

Calling him by his middle name drives me crazier than anything. I'll just say it - it's ignorant scare tactics. It makes you look ignorant.

Is it not his name?

Maybe I'll go back to calling him The Socialist just for you.

I'll overlook your personal insult.

Registering and voting on the same day makes voter fraud easier. There is nothing fair about it because honest people are not interested in voting illegally and honest candidates do not want them to do so.

As I said, the Ohio SoS applied a requirement that was not mandated by Ohio law and the state's Supreme Court shot down her attempt to disenfranchise thousands of Ohio's Republican voters.

The Ohio Secretary of State is a partisan Democrat who is applying Ohio law as favorably as possible to her own party to make it easier for groups like ACORN to steal the election for Obama. That is why Ohio is of so much interest in this campaign. Americans are concerned that the 2008 election may be decided before election day even arrives.
