Funny thing happened today on I-75. 2 guy's riding with no helmet's and blowing the crap out of our car driving at 65 MPH. We have to use seat belt's and hope the heck we don't hit them if they wreck. Why don't they have to wear head gear?

 

Even funnier is the law requiring one to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle or a scooter, but no motorcycle helmet law. :lol:

 

Now, I'm not against a helmet law, per se, for bicyclists and scooterers, just at the arbitrary application of what seems like the same law.

While smoking bans suck for people that smoke...

 

They're AWESOME for me, and in the end that's all that matters...

I didn't even think about the bicycle helmet law. Seriously, I just hope I never run over some splat in the road from a motorcycle wreck.

As a nurse, I know of several asthmatics who cannot be NEAR anyone who smokes because it can trigger severe asthma attacks.

 

That being said, I think MOST public places should be smoke free.

 

However, bars and casinos......well......there should be some exceptions to a smoking ban.

 

I remember when patients were allowed to smoke in bed. We would turn off their oxygen, let them smoke and turn it back on when they were done.

 

Doctors and nurses smoked at the nursing station. Hard to believe it was ever that way.

Alcohol is served at all of those establishments, it's part of what fuels the atmosphere. Taking away the option of smoking in those type of places takes away from those particular type of places appeal.

Not likely you can legislate perfume.

 

Also cigarette smoke is literally blown into the air and exposure is much greater. Unless, of course you are talking about my grandmother....God rest her soul.
