May 18, 200818 yr To me, the nicest celebs are Bruce Bruce, Ralphie May, & Lahna Turner. Obviously all are comedians but when you tour many, many different places and see thousands of people every weekend, it would be easy to forget people but every time I see them at the FunnyBoneOnTheLevee, they all remember me. That is why I am going to go see Ralphie and Lahna tonight. As far as the rudest, I will have to say Tubby Smith and Rick Pitino. I once saw Tubby at the KBA in Lexington and he was extremely rude to some kids that went over to ask him for his autograph. As for Pitino, I can never and will never have respect for someone that thinks they're better than anyone else and Ricky P. was that way when my grandfather worked on his house when he first came to UK. I saw Bruce Bruce at the Levy and although we didn't have any one on one time he was great with everyone.
May 18, 200818 yr Andre the Giant was not very friendly when I met him. Joe Nuxhall was one of the friendliest guys you could meet. He was down to earth and willing to talk to anyone.

May 25, 200818 yr When I was 10-11 years old and our family had season Red's tickets, Pete Rose used to come out before some games and gather a few of us kids together and tell stories before games. Nuxie did this also. When I got married in Vegas, I met Pete again and spent several hours talking to him. He is friends with my old college roomie who owns Memory Lane Sports in Redondo Beach. I spent about 30 minutes talking to Dickie V at a bar in New Orleans. :sssh::sssh:Great Guy! Neil Young, Graham Nash, Glen Frey, Linda Rhonstadt, Pat Benetar, JD Crowe, (Keith Whitley), Doyle Lawson, Jay Leno, Mickey Dolenz and Andy Griffith are all great and easy to talk to.:thumb: HHMmmmm, Pete in Vegas. I couldn't imagine that.
May 25, 200818 yr Best: John Chaney, outside the locker room, a few minutes after defeating UL in the NIT a few years ago in Freedom Hall. As nice a guy as I've ever met; made me wonder if the whole sideline act was just that - an act. I'm sure John Calipari would disagree with you. :lol:

A few others that stand out - Brooks Robinson, Hal Morris, Martha Layne Collins, Harry Chapin, John Raitt, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Tom Lehman. Worst: None really stand out. There are always the sports figures that may not give you all the attention you think you deserve, but I've never been treated very rudely. Met Chaney as well. My brother graduated from Basic Training my senior year of HS over Spring Break, so it was right after the NCAA Tourney. I saw him at a gas station of all places. LOL, I can't remember what state it was, but I want to say Missouri, or maybe Mississippi. Any how he was a really really nice guy. We stood and talked about b-ball and alot of other stuff for a good ten to fifteen minutes. Couldn't believe I saw him at a gas station. Especially since I was mad that my folks woke me up just to say we were at a gas station lol.
May 25, 200818 yr The nicest would have to be Mr. Wildcat for me. Have not met a bunch of celebs, but have seen quite a few at my work. Had about a 15 minute coneversation with the guys from the band, Papa Roach. They were as down to earth as they come.

May 25, 200818 yr Don't know if some would consider these Celebs but...... AJ Hawk- very quiet, down to earth guy, doesnt like to be noticed out in public. Danica Patrick- can't say what I want to on here... not nice! Couple different IRL drivers most pretty cool. Kenny Chesney- very nice guy although some say otherwise, was very nice to us. Matt Lauer- very nice guy and extremely down to earth. Met several college football coaches over the years all pretty nice except the UK coaching staff (sorry cats fan) other then Joker and Coach Brooks all were very snobby acting.
May 27, 200818 yr I haven't met many celebrities, and I'm fine with that. But Collinsworth and Merrill Hoge are two of the finest, nicest people that I know. Not sure Nick Clooney qualifies as a celebrity, but he's a really nice person also. I've met a couple that I wouldn't necessarily invite to him house for dinner, if you know what I mean. But I'll keep their identities to myself. Remember's Momma's rule!
June 3, 200818 yr I have met quite a few different folks, and actually had conversations with them. Brian Jordan I got to know on a first name basis, and he is a fantastic person. Larry Bird, Roy Williams, Doc Gooden, John Elway, Dave Matthews, Charlie Daniels, Coach Kragthorpe, Peyton Manning, and Phil Fulmer all were absolutely fantastic people... Todd Hundley is one of the most rude people I have ever spoken to. Than I told him about himself.
