May 17, 200818 yr I have talked to Chad Johnson several times at my son's football camps. And, I have to say that he was very nice and not at all what I expected. I know he has been getting some bad press, but he stood and talked to me like he was just any other guy talking to a friend. We didn't talk about football, just normal conversation about the players at the camp and weather. Really surprised me.

May 17, 200818 yr Amare Stoudemire was really quiet, but very nice for the 2 second fist pound and "wudup Amare" conversation I shared with him. Steve Young was also very personable when I met him on the sidelines of a Bengals game. As for the rude ones. . . Mickey Mouse was a big let down when I first met him.

May 17, 200818 yr Best: John Chaney, outside the locker room, a few minutes after defeating UL in the NIT a few years ago in Freedom Hall. As nice a guy as I've ever met; made me wonder if the whole sideline act was just that - an act. A few others that stand out - Brooks Robinson, Hal Morris, Martha Layne Collins, Harry Chapin, John Raitt, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Tom Lehman. Worst: None really stand out. There are always the sports figures that may not give you all the attention you think you deserve, but I've never been treated very rudely.

I mentioned Ted Nugent because he was a very nice and accommodating guy. He was extremely friendly, funny and genuine. He went out of his way to have pictures taken with us and many others at the time. A really cool guy.
May 17, 200818 yr When I was 10-11 years old and our family had season Red's tickets, Pete Rose used to come out before some games and gather a few of us kids together and tell stories before games. Nuxie did this also. When I got married in Vegas, I met Pete again and spent several hours talking to him. He is friends with my old college roomie who owns Memory Lane Sports in Redondo Beach. I spent about 30 minutes talking to Dickie V at a bar in New Orleans. :sssh::sssh:Great Guy! Neil Young, Graham Nash, Glen Frey, Linda Rhonstadt, Pat Benetar, JD Crowe, (Keith Whitley), Doyle Lawson, Jay Leno, Mickey Dolenz and Andy Griffith are all great and easy to talk to.:thumb:

May 17, 200818 yr To me, the nicest celebs are Bruce Bruce, Ralphie May, & Lahna Turner. Obviously all are comedians but when you tour many, many different places and see thousands of people every weekend, it would be easy to forget people but every time I see them at the FunnyBoneOnTheLevee, they all remember me. That is why I am going to go see Ralphie and Lahna tonight. As far as the rudest, I will have to say Tubby Smith and Rick Pitino. I once saw Tubby at the KBA in Lexington and he was extremely rude to some kids that went over to ask him for his autograph. As for Pitino, I can never and will never have respect for someone that thinks they're better than anyone else and Ricky P. was that way when my grandfather worked on his house when he first came to UK.
