^ I don't hate any homers. Kudos to Mr. Dunn. He did his job. Which he has not Dunn very often this season. If the Reds can afford to have him batting 7th, and get more pitching with Grifs salary. They may have a shot. A remote one.

Keep Dunn and get rid of Griff quickly. This team could contend with Bruce hitting 3rd. Its hard to carry Griffey in that spot.

The Reds simply cannot afford 13 million dollars on Dunn. If he was making half of that it wouldn't be as much of an issue. This is not a big market team. The Diamondbacks highest paid batter is Eric Byrnes, making 6.5 million and he has 99 career HR's.

Dunn has now homered in 4 of the last 4 games. All wins. As much as he's getting paid here, he'll get paid even more by another team if the Reds do indeed trade him. I say keep Dunn and use the money that will be free'd up with Griffey's departure to get soem pitching.

That may very well be the case. The only way I say trade Dunn though is if they can get a #2 or #3 starter and a solid MRP. You have to remember there are something like 13 players on the Reds roster this year who are in the last year of their contract. The Reds should have plenty of money to throw around in the off season considering the majority of those will be gone including Griffey.

 

It seems like the Reds are doing a really good job at developing their young talent. Janish, Kepp, Votto, Cueto have all showed they can perform at the big league level. The smart thing to do would be to keep Dunn for 2 or 3 more years considering he hasn't hit the peak of his career yet, and get rid of all of those older players who are in the last year of their contracts (Griffey,Hatteberg, Bako to name a few) to free up cap room for pitching.

 

Getting rid of Dunn right now when he's averaging 40 HR and 100+ ZRBI a year would be kind of ridiculous unless as I stated before they could get a #2 starter and a solid MRP.

I'm still not a big fan of Dunn but after going to Saturday's game and watching him hit the game winning HR, I gotta give the guy a little more love.

I think Adam is starting to heat up.... The HR's are starting to come. Give the guy a break. He will hit his 40to45 this year. I dont know who you think is going to replace that. I also dont know whose jersey you think the kids are going to want. I coach a youth team, and Dunn is 3/4 of the teams favorite player. I really hope they keep him. Then again it could be personal, I really like his seats behind home plate. If he is gone so is my hook-up.
