What are you all trying to prove? Dunn loses and if he is so great then why aren't they winning? Something must be wrong because i know of players who lead there team in HR but don't hit 40 a year but still win. Oh maybe its cause those players hit above .240. Or maybe because those players field. Or maybe because those players WANT TO WIN. Good players WIN. Dunn doesn't WIN

He is a quality person and recently suffered some family issues that are straightening out. I hope he keeps it up (the hot streak, not the issues).

Simple... highest paid player on the team by 5 million dollars.. let him go, get someone to replace him who will give us at least half of his production and wont be hard at GAB for say 6 million dollars, then we have 7 million to spend on mid relief, pitching, or any other position. Smaller market teams have to spend wisely.

Have tried to be your "power" team for years.... when we should evaluate the A's of 4 years ago or the Braves of the past 10. Or the current Diamondbacks who let go of there biggest power hitter who has more HR's than Dunn right now.

 

But we could probably bring back Wily Mo and Austin pretty cheap.. for more power.

 

The three I mentioned should come close to 30 HR's and 85 RBI's...

Considering he is 2-3 years into the league not many. And it is funny, how you guys put so much value into a guy who can hit the ball 475 feet 10-15 more times than the 2nd place HR hitter on the team for 4-8 times what the other guy is making. But there are people who go to the ball game wanting to see a HR more than a win.

Dunn's batting average, as unimpressive as it may seem, isn't nearly as important as his slugging percentage and on-base percentage, two areas where Dunn excels. Like him or not, Dunn is a productive offensive player, although he's hard to place effectively in the batting order.

 

That doesn't mean I would rush to sign him to a lucrative long-term deal, but it doesn't mean I would be eager to give him away, either.
