We have about 8 inches now....we may have over a foot by dawn....very cool....mainly because its a weekend and we don't have to go anywhere, and that it will be near 60 a couple of days this week, so this will all be gone soon enough as well. Commander, what's going on? There's nothing going on. We're closing the road. Big blizzard moving in. What blizzard? It's a couple flakes. Don't you listen to the weather? We got a major storm here. I make the weather! All this moisture coming up out of the Gulf will push off to the east and hit Altoona. Pal, you got that moisture on your head. I'm still trying to figure out how it can be that much of a difference between there and Bardstown. Here there is just barely more than an inch on the ground in my driveway.
March 8, 200818 yr My idiot friend on his way up from Nashville stopped to stay the night in Bardstown. I think if you make it that far you just gotta keep going. Plus, no offense, but you never want to stay in Bardstown. :laugh: My experience has not been as trying as yours, I must admit, and no offense taken. I may yet call this my adopted hometown, but I'd like to be here a bit more than just nine months to make sure. If your friend was going toward Lexington, however, it may have been a good idea to stop here. Tons of wrecks out on the parkway with all the sleet/freezing rain we've gotten. Should've given 'em my number and they could've stopped by for a drink and saved money on a hotel room.
March 8, 200818 yr No offense, but i skipped 4 pages of posts. All I have to say is Most. Overrated. Winter. Storm. Ever. Like, I'm not a big global warming guy, but why havent we had a snow in more than 10 years? I remember freaking out when we got an ice storm in 96 because I'd never seen anything like it. We went out and tried to pley street hockey. Now we never ever get a snowstorm and ice is the norm. Discuss.

March 8, 200818 yr :dancingpa:dancingpaWe are white and it is still coming!!! I love it. I don't like the fact that it is so wet though...could make for icy conditions, especially when, at times, the snow is mixed with ice.

This one might be a footer....plus Talked to my old man earlier tonight, and he said Warsaw was getting pounded, so I'm sure you guys are getting the same. Since I last posted in this thread, it's dropped another half-inch, giving us about 2 1/2 on the ground here in Bardstown.

March 8, 200818 yr Just came back in from shoveling the sidewalk and cleaning the cars for the second time this morning (I'm one of those types that thinks its easier to do it about 4 times instead of waiting for it to stop and then do it). I have to admit, its beautiful out there. Snow prevented my son from driving home last night (decided to take the prudent approach), so that stinks, but other than that, I don't mind this snow. Hope you guys catching flights can get out though. Feel for you if you don't. With a lot of people snowed in, I bet BGP is humming this weekend.
