I just got this message from my brother, out at the airport:

It's dead here. Most flights were canceled. I did see a 757 and an Airbus de-icing as I came in. Lot of flights in the morning are either already canceled or significantly delayed.

Thanks BF, and thanks for nothing snow. Any other weekend I would absolutely love this. I'd be elated.

We had nothing but rain and that was this afternoon early , then about 10:30 we started to get ice and sleet. We are still getting sleet, has the ground covered about 2 in. on the deck. But they say it is coming JOY! ! ! ! ! ! OH Rockpride soooo cute.

3/4's of March is winter... let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. Snow in October/early November is disturbing... can't get a good footing.

I just drove home from Morehead to Danville in this mess. It took me close to 3 hours to make a 1 1/2 hour trip... Just happy to be home in one piece.

It's been a steady cycle of freezing rain alternating with snow all day here in Bardstown. Had to thaw and scrape a pretty thick sheet of ice off my car before I could leave work at 6:30.

Even better: I was supposed to do a draft today for a fantasy baseball money league I was joining for the first time this year. I get a call at 6:35 from one of the guys in the league wondering why I hadn't made the 25-mile trek to E'town. "The roads are crystal clear," he said. "They aren't here," I replied as the freezing rain drops down on my head while I scrape the ice off my windshield. He just couldn't understand why I didn't want to risk my life to do a fantasy draft.

My idiot friend on his way up from Nashville stopped to stay the night in Bardstown. I think if you make it that far you just gotta keep going. Plus, no offense, but you never want to stay in Bardstown.

With the bunch of nothing we've gotten in Lex. it makes me want to make my way up to Lville or NOKY.

Actually, now that I think of it, I'd really love to go to Paoli or Perfect North.

Have you looked outside? It sleeted over an inch in Lexington about an hour ago. Not snow, but sleet.

I heard the sleet. What about sleet is good to look at that though?

Its good to fishtail your car in. Trust me.

No doubt. How do you know what its like in Lex? I thought you went from Morehead to Danville?

I drove through lexington on the way home.

They just said on our local news that we should get about 1-2 inches per hour until morning.....they said the NKY area is under a BLIZZARD warning....

We have about 8 inches now....we may have over a foot by dawn....very cool....mainly because its a weekend and we don't have to go anywhere, and that it will be near 60 a couple of days this week, so this will all be gone soon enough as well.
