Woodson's Draft Stock Free-Falling

Featured Replies

Is it just me or does anyone else think Woodson's release, while mechanically sound and pretty, is extremely slow?

I think he does have a slow release. The scouts notes say that in a different system the velocity on his throws is able to make up for a slow delivery. I guess we'll see, it doesn't look like Mike Martz will want to draft him.

Same with Lorenzen, although Woodson has better mechanics...

Martz has nothing to do with Woodson's ability.

If his stock is falling it's because he was possibly overrated.

:sssh: :sssh: :sssh: What a concept.

Reports from the Senior Bowl not only have Woodson falling, but Brennan's already shaky draft status has plunged, and many scouts are now leaning on Joe Flacco over Brian Brohm as the #2 QB prospect....

As you know I am a UK fan, however I think you might be right about this. The more I watched Woodson this year, the more I started to think how he won't be much of an NFL QB. I think he is going to be someone who for most of his career will be just a very good backup..IMO now I know we talked about this before, but I definitely don't think he is as good as Couch was coming out of college. But I not even sure if he is good as the Hefty Lefty. I sure that comment will get a lot of people saying stuff to me. However when you look at it, out of those three QB's, Woodson has played with by far the most talent around him. When I watched Woodson this year, I hardly ever seen a throw where I would say wow now that was a great throw. He hardly ever was able to fit any throws into small windows. I mean if people go back and look at tape, you will see most of the passes he hit is where there was a pretty big window to throw into because the person he was throwing to was pretty open. I mean I give credit to him there though because he was able to find the guys who were open. However I just don't think his game translates well into the NFL at all...

With all that said, I hope I am completely wrong and he makes me look like a fool and does great! :thumb:

Woodson is still projected to go to the Bears in every scenario I've seen.

Slow delivery plus zero foot speed equals a lot of time on his back in the NFL...

I thought it equaled a lot of clip board holding in the NFL.

That too... :jump:

Woodson will be the first QB taken in the draft.....

Nope, that's gonna be Matt Ryan....;)

Obviously sarcasm, OR.

4.8 is not equal to zero.

Why would Martz change mechanical things of the players. I would think the Senior Bowl is supposed to be designed to highlight players. I say let the kids play their game in a game like this.
