Woodson's Draft Stock Free-Falling

Featured Replies

I don't agree with you about Brohm. I really don't see him going in the top 10, actually I don't see him going in the first round. I think it would be a major reach at that point. Stranger things have happened (hello David Klingler), but most of the mock drafts don't have him in the 1st (which is probably better for him). He'll need a very strong combine and workout to change that.

Here is a link to the latest mock:

I am not concerned about ONE mock draft, I looked at 7...they all had him in the first round, most at #8 to the Ravens. His combine will be amazing, his arm is certainly pro strength, there is not a more cerebral player in the draft, let alone QB, his accuracy has never been questioned. His wonderlic will be very high as well. Brian Brohm's stock will SOAR with the combine, bet on that.

Brohm and Woodson should be the top 2 IMO. Matt Ryan... spare me, whoever gets duped into drafting him in the first round deserves to suck for being stupid.

His stock can't be dropping any further than Brennan's.

He still has time to get his stock up with the Combine, UK Pro day, and individual team workouts. The Senior Bowl is not going to kill him if he does well in the others. All he has to do is impress one of those teams at the top of the draft.

Matt Ryan:

GP - - - Comp - - - Att - - - Yards - - - Comp % - - - TD - - - Int

7 35 71 350 49.3% 2 3

10 121 195 1,514 62.1% 8 5

12 263 427 2,942 61.6% 15 10

14 388 654 4,507 59.3% 31 19

Brian Brohm:

11 66 98 819 67.3% 6 2

10 207 301 2,883 68.8% 19 5

11 199 313 3,049 63.6% 16 5

12 308 473 4,024 65.1% 30 12

Just looking at the above it furthers the proof that Brian is a more sound QB. Brian is as accurate as any QB in the nation, his touch can't be doubted. His only knock, and it is a fair one, is durability, though he has only missed 4-5 games in his entire life.

I'm ticked that Andre just missed Harry for an easy TD.

For those of us who dont have the NFL network, how are the rest of the UK guys doing?

On another note, an ESPN article had the bengals picking Ellis from USCw in the first round, hes looking like it would be a very smart pick by the bengals.

Drafting QB's is a crap shoot .........................since the NFL teams do so badly, I wonder why they don't just hire some of us experts on this board.

There is absolutely no way Woodson will be one of the top two QBs taken. I would tend to agree with your assessment of Ryan, he isn't a really strong QB either. But at this point, he is light years ahead of where Woodson is as a pro QB. Ultimately, I think Brohm will end up the best pro prospect out of this entire group with Henne and Flacco being the next best 2.

One of the NFL GM's should pick you up to be a QB scout, you obviously know it all...

I guess the question that I would have is that, given all of the talent available at the top of the draft, do you really think there are 2 QBs worthy of top 10 picks this year. My answer would be no. Actually, I don't really see one QB worthy of that pick. We shall see.

I think if I had to choose one, I'd certainly take Brohm over Ryan. However, the NFL scouts seem to think otherwise.

I hope Brohm slides, Atlanta and Baltimore haven't exactly been QB friendly offenses.

I can tell that you've "done" your homework, but in the draft it doesn't really matter who the top 10 players are. What matters are the needs of the teams that are drafting. If a team drafting in the top 10 needs a quarterback, they aren't going to draft a wide receiver (unless of course, they are the Detroit Lions). :thumb:

How about Trent Dilfer? Does he know anything? Because those were the EXACT words out of his mouth. Actually, I think the word "overmatched" was used.

Did you watch the Senior Bowl? Woodson looked absolutely HORRIBLE. I don't think anyone who watched the game would disagree.

He missed HS throws. A 3 step hitch (twice). A curl out combination. And it's not like they were close misses, they were 10 feet from being catchable misses. Not to mention he held onto the ball, causing two turnovers.

I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out that this is not a 1st round QB........

No they haven't...though Baltimore should be much more opened up now, with Cameron...there definately is a need for QB at 3-4 of the Top Ten teams.
