I can tell that you've "done" your homework, but in the draft it doesn't really matter who the top 10 players are. What matters are the needs of the teams that are drafting. If a team drafting in the top 10 needs a quarterback, they aren't going to draft a wide receiver (unless of course, they are the Detroit Lions). :thumb:

No they haven't...though Baltimore should be much more opened up now, with Cameron...there definately is a need for QB at 3-4 of the Top Ten teams.

How about Trent Dilfer? Does he know anything? Because those were the EXACT words out of his mouth. Actually, I think the word "overmatched" was used.

 

Did you watch the Senior Bowl? Woodson looked absolutely HORRIBLE. I don't think anyone who watched the game would disagree.

 

He missed HS throws. A 3 step hitch (twice). A curl out combination. And it's not like they were close misses, they were 10 feet from being catchable misses. Not to mention he held onto the ball, causing two turnovers.

 

I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out that this is not a 1st round QB........

I'm not disregarding anything. However, you have to admit that playing this poorly will surely affect his draft stock.

 

Could it have been a bad game? Absolutely. I tend to think that it was probably a combination of him having a ridiculously slow drop (which led to sacks), and his lack of experience in setting his feet with the 3 step game from under center.

 

Are those things a "given" for a 1st round QB in the NFL? Absolutely.

 

By the way, David Klingler, Akili Smith, Eric Crouch, etc. all made plays in college.

He didn't struggle in the PRO STYLE offense, his statistics showed that. His injury concerns I can see, however it will not be anything in reality. I know everyone loves Matt Ryan, but from watching almost every game he played this season, I don't really understand it. I still believe that Brian will shine after the combine. Brian's stock is super high and will still likely be a top ten pick, fine with me.

 

I know we have been going back and forth on this but the reason scouts see this year as a struggle is because of the one stat you keep conviniently leaving out when you post, WINS! The struggles UofL have had this season are undoubtedly effecting Brohm's draft stock.

 

IMO, he should have played in the Senior Bowl. He could have showcased himself against the other QBs and maybe showed some of his superior skills against lesser competition. He is not going to outshine Ryan at the combine. To be honest, I would be surprised if either even performed at the combine. Top QBs usually just do pro-days. Of course, the combine would again be a showcase for his skills. I hope Brohm does it; it should help him.

All those were regular tendencies for Woodson throughout the past two seasons...

His stock may fall but he will still be a very wealthy man in the near future. His showing was not a great one forsure

What QB have you seen come right on a NFL team and perform well right away? None.

 

99% of the time I agree but there have been a few step in their first year and do well. Off the top of my head I recall Marino having his stock fall his senior year at PItt resulting in his stock going down and the Dolphins picking him up late in the first round. I recall years ago Shula saying that they were not planning on taking him but were shocked he was still there when they drafted and felt it was worth spending a pick on. Marino went on to have a monster rookie year and then a couple pretty good years followed

He may have had a bad game, but all he needs are a good pro day and a good combine, plenty of players have fluctuated b/w all star games and the regular season and the combine, he will be one of the first 4 QB's taken...

Ainge and Henne were the two best QB's in the game. I only saw the second half and highlights from the first. Tamme kept getting open but nobody was hitting him. Douglas they were comparing to Bobby Engram and said he will make a fine slot receiver. Woodyard made some plays, then had some missed tackles. More good plays then bad though. Bengals projected pick Sedrick Ellis was an absolute BEAST. He was causing all kinds of havoc in the back field.

Arm looked strong. Only QB whose balls looked like they really had some zip on them. Threw a nice 15+ comeback route, a must for QBs in the NFL. Was the victim of some dropped balls as well......

 

I was really suprised with how little he played. Maybe 3 series the entire game?

There are many more days of scrutiny before the NFL draft for Andre Woodson, but the Mike Martz style of offense he was exposed to in the Senior Bowl was misfortunate for him. This offense calls for quick drops, quick reads, and Andre was very uncomfortable in it.

 

Andre's abilities would be best showcased if he would have played in an offense that stretches the field where he can show off his superior arm strength.

 

Fortunately for Andre, there will be a lot more opportunities to show his stuff before the draft in April.

And every NFL scout the past 2 months....I'll take my company this time. :thumb:
