I couldn't tell if it was a fumble or not on the slow motion replay....it's a non-issue. When does Tiger basketball, err, I mean baseball start?

I have seen NOTHING derogatory directed at the school, players, or fans. Bottom line: Your coach needs to learn how to lose with grace and dignity. This whole "We win, we are better than you" "We lose, we are still better than you" stuff gets old.

I have no interest whatsoever in this game, other than being a football fan. Yet Trinity fans have continued with this bogus "disrespect" line, even after I told them the circumstances surrounding Glaser's C-J comment.

 

You and many of your fellow Trinity fans (not all, but MANY) have continued with this line of thinking despite evidence to the contrary, and I find it very, very amusing. You guys are almost as bad as UK hoops fans with their whole idea that there is an anti-UK conspiracy out there.

 

Keep going though, because there is not enough out there to laugh at.

No one mentioned the guy who picked the Rocks by 6 in OT!

I wonder exactly where the Rocks will land on the final national high school polls for 2007. I think Louisville St. X was 15th last week, and Cincy St X was 1st or 2nd and having played both, I don't see either of them droping down so where do the Rocks finish maybe somewhere in between those two, maybe 10th or 12th what do you all think?

My first Trinity-St. Xavier game, and it was well worth the price of admission. I even had the good fortune to watch it with a couple of knowledgable and rather well-behaved Trinity fans.

 

As for the Glaser comment ... there are some from Trinity that jump on anything Glaser says in the media. The comment wasn't out of line. After all, the Tigers did win the first matchup and the second game went to overtime only after Trinity tied it in the final minute. You can't have co-champions, but the two teams are basically even.

Both teams played their hearts out. The game last night stands as a testament to Kentucky high school football. Congratulations Trinity on a hard earned win! You guys are a hell of a team. I wish all the Trinity seniors the best of luck wherever they go from here.

 

Just a word on class-yes there were actions from both sides of the field that could be considered classless. But I think that it is important not to focus on those negative aspects of last night. Both schools must remember last night as the night when the two greatest high school rivals in the nation came together and waged one of the hardest fought battles in the history of the series. We must remember the names of the players and coaches that brought everything they had--and left it all on the field. Let those who lack class suffer the consequences of their faults, but we can not dishonor the legacy of those boys by bringing the focus of last night off of their

performance.

 

Jimmyref- I hear you on that one. For the past four years, I have had the privilege to be a part of this X team. I am honored to call every single one of those guys not only my friends but my brothers. I hope they know how proud every member of the St X community is of all of their achievements on the field, in the locker room, in the classroom, and in the community--this team is truly one of the greatest! I want them all to know I would not trade anything in the world (including an alternative ending last night) for the past 4 years they have given to me. I love every single member of that team-they are, and always will be, my boys.

I wonder where the problem exist, we have all read the great stat information the Jimmy-ref and others have produced for us and by those stats how could the Rocks beat St. X ever. We have all read how great the freshmen teams have been from St X for the last 5-6 years seemingly always beating the Rocks, so what happens between there freshmen year and their senior year that makes the rocks seem to get better and Coach Glasier say and do some of the things that he has done in the last few years.

 

I just heard an interesting story today, that as freshmen this group of seniors were beating the Tigers by 10 points with 51 seconds left in the game and a player from Trinity who made the interception in the end zone at last nights game fumbled and things went crazy and the tigers came back and beat the rocks, does anyone know about this and why didn't someone bring it up this week, is this a true story if it is no wonder the rocks won last night, they must of not forgotten that day, just as the tigers will never forget the 07 championship game, what memories for all of these great seniors from both teams. Congrats Rocks,:dancingpa hold your head high tigers :thumb:it was a classic game by all.

First, I think the St. X vs Trinity state final is a tribute to the 2 schools. The rivalry makes both football teams better. I talked with a coach tonight at a Louisville high school and he had nothing but respect for both programs.

 

I do think that the off-season offers time to reflect of the strenghts and weaknesses of a team.

 

Being quoted in the newspaper, as Glaser was, is a tricky situation. Only Coach Glaser and the columnist knows for sure what was exactly said. Also, things can be taken out of context which makes the meaning of what is said a little different than if only one sentence is quoted. The issue of Glaser's quote does bring to light the tremendous scrutiny a public figure can be under. What is said from Coach Glaser, or Billy Gillespie or RIck Pitino, is surely scrutinized a lot more than any of these posts on a message board.
