Let's rehash an old conversation....how long is second fiddle going to be good enough for the Xaverians..they didn't like that we had a new stadium, they built a new one, we have way more state championships...and we own this decade....I know that there have to be those of the X faithful that have to be boiling inside in regards to a school that has half the money, half the property, half the tenure, half the alum...but almost double the championships

We do understand what high school is about. That is why we spent our money on expanding and improving the academis facilities before starting on the stadium project. That is why we have had programs in place to teach kids with learning problems since the school opened in 1953.

 

With that said, the current football staff at St X has done nothing that should lead the school to make a change. That kind of talk is way over the top.

After watching the game last night I take back my comment on several facemask calls being missed on Phillips. I thought there were 3 blatant yanks not called, there was just one. I honestly could not tell on the infamous fumble, I think an earlier post said it best that the replay was not conclusive to overturn the call. I thought the spotting gods favored the Tigers on 2 bigs plays. Couple questions though, was the personal foul on the T touchdown just a 1.5 yard penalty on the xp kick and not on the kickoff? That doesn't sound like a good rule - not very punative for a late hit, etc. Next question, was Finch hurting in the second half? I was surprised he didn't see the ball more. The other rbs were not nearly as effective. The fake punt call was brilliant. The halfback pass was not. T did not play the perfect game, but it was close enough.

I have no interest whatsoever in this game, other than being a football fan. Yet Trinity fans have continued with this bogus "disrespect" line, even after I told them the circumstances surrounding Glaser's C-J comment.

 

You and many of your fellow Trinity fans (not all, but MANY) have continued with this line of thinking despite evidence to the contrary, and I find it very, very amusing. You guys are almost as bad as UK hoops fans with their whole idea that there is an anti-UK conspiracy out there.

 

Keep going though, because there is not enough out there to laugh at.

 

I did see your earlier post and were not aware that you were an expert on media relations as well as the T-X rivalry. The comment Glaser made was not that big of a deal. It is the accumulation of these types of comments over the last couple of years that have raised the ire of some Rock fans. Obviously, you do not know the history. Laugh away, Ignorance is bliss.

Congrats X-men on a hard hitting game in which both teams laid it out on the line. Looking forward to the final chapter of Phillips vs. Deuce.

I wonder where the problem exist, we have all read the great stat information the Jimmy-ref and others have produced for us and by those stats how could the Rocks beat St. X ever. We have all read how great the freshmen teams have been from St X for the last 5-6 years seemingly always beating the Rocks, so what happens between there freshmen year and their senior year that makes the rocks seem to get better and Coach Glasier say and do some of the things that he has done in the last few years.

 

I just heard an interesting story today, that as freshmen this group of seniors were beating the Tigers by 10 points with 51 seconds left in the game and a player from Trinity who made the interception in the end zone at last nights game fumbled and things went crazy and the tigers came back and beat the rocks, does anyone know about this and why didn't someone bring it up this week, is this a true story if it is no wonder the rocks won last night, they must of not forgotten that day, just as the tigers will never forget the 07 championship game, what memories for all of these great seniors from both teams. Congrats Rocks,:dancingpa hold your head high tigers :thumb:it was a classic game by all.

Would we be having this conversation if the ball bounced another way? X was 32 seconds away from 15-0. That is a hurt that the X seniors will carry for a short time but will eventually get over. The 2005 X-men have moved on to play in college bowl games and don't look back at one high school game. To my son, it will be his last football game but he'll play another sport in college and he'll get his degree. He did his best in the game, scored a TD and should of scored another.

 

Trinity made the plays and I tip my hat and offer congrats. But you analyze this all you want but it comes down to this. T scored from the 1- X did not.

Congrats to the big uglies up front.

I missed that fumble. I watched the replay and couldn't find it. I did see a play where the officials on the spot made a call that the replay doesn't refute.

 

I honor the effort of the St X kids throughout this game. They don't need excuses. I'm not sure who your son is, but if he scored a touchdown, that narrows it some. Regardless, St X played a heck of a game.

The bitterness will subside over time. Be proud of you accomplishments and hold your head high. I am still very proud of my school and football program.

This event, though huge now, will not define who you are or what you will become. Life will throw you many more hurdles, keep working and enjoy the rest of your senior year.

I felt going into the game that if Trinity could score over 24 points they had a chance to pull off the upset. To me that was the best Trinity Offense I have seen against X in the last 10 years. Trinity may have had better offensive teams in that time but they didn’t move the ball that well against the X Defense in those years. For Trinity to play that well against this year’s X defense especially in the first half was very impressive.

 

Great Job to both teams!!! and after reading several other forms this week I believe Central, St. X and Trinity put on a Show and let everyone in the State know how good Louisville High School Football is.

Congratulations to him (and you). Parents of players from both teams should be very proud of what their Sons have accomplished and what they have been a part of . Not just for Saturday night but for the season as well. You probably do not dwell much on the fact that you are envied by many - boosters, alumni, etc - who only wish they could have or had a

son play in these very special games.

A live ball foul against the defense that occurs during a TD can be assessed on either the try or the succeeding kickoff. But a dead ball foul AFTER the TD must be accepted or declined on the try only.
