WOW, to be honest, I didn't realize how few times Dixie has been in the playoffs and I go back long enough with my friends who played for Dixie when they were the "Lil Colonels". Considering how long Dixie has played football and how long CovCath has played football, I am really surprised by the disparity of times Dixie has made the playoffs compared to CovCath and how many games each team has played in the playoffs....

If the Blue Colonels come out as fired up as they did agains Highlands, and they are healthy(Buckley), i give the edge to Cov Cath. I know that Spritz has a lot of magic up his sleeves that he may have been saving for the playoffs, he has his team right where he wants them, gaining momentum going in the playoffs. Even though I would say Dixie is the better team, some teams just flat out know how to win. Cov Cath is like the Boston Red Sox, once you have counted them out, they come back and win a shocker(Highlands Double Overtime in the Monsoon). I have to take Cov Cath 24-21 even though that shalacking of Campbell Co that they keep playing on ICN 6 was an impressive win by Dixie.

What about the Ryle game week before when it was 10 to 10 at the half and Dixie wallops them 45 to 10, then the Campbell County wallop. I still feel that Dixie has improved so much when I saw them play Beechwood in which they should have won that game also. I agree this game will be close however, I think that Dixie has to many weapon's compared to CovCath. JD

Wrong anyone with common sense had Highlands winning the district, with Dixie finishing second, even most Dixie supporters said that.

 

Actually, if you go back through some preseason threads, many were putting Dixie as the favorite, mainly because of the number of returning starters compared to Highlands and CCH.

Dixie didn't start becoming a regular in the playoffs since 1998. Also, please remember that for a long time only 2 teams from each disctrict went to the playoffs.

Yea, you're right. Boston won the World Series with a .400 winning % in the regular season.

 

CovCath was a great team last year, and yes they are improved, but Dixie is the better team on paper, and on the field, which they've proven once already.

The last stat alone makes this the biggest DHS/CCH game of all-time.

Just know that I DID say that I thought that Dixie was the better team, just that COV CATH brings their A game to the Playoffs. Dixie will be out coached. CCH by 15.

If CCH wins.......great..........and if Dixie wins..........oh well.......If CCH loses to Dixie twice.........it's gonna happen sooner or later.

I don't think this is accurate. Dixie has been playing football since teams wore leather helmets.

 

Also they have been in the playoffs every year since at least 98 and have gone to the regional final more than once.

Don't waste your breath nees. I wouldn't expect Highlands fans to have any other expectation. Their team has been number one so long in their district that to most of them it's a given. But the fact remains that both CCH and HHS graduated big senior classes and were unproven. Dixie however returned a huge senior laden team of which most have been starting since they were sophmores.
