October 26, 200718 yr I thought BC's QB stunk it up tonight. He didn't show me anything. He was terrible the first 12 drives. He was masterful the final 2 drives. That throw across the field for the winning TD was a thing of beauty. However, Craig James and a few others will only remember those final 2 drives, not the first 12. And since they got the W, it becomes all that more impressive.
October 26, 200718 yr BC must win out for Ryan to win. They don't play another ranked team, and his stats aren't good enough for him to win with 1 loss. (19TD, 8 INT, 1 rushing TD at this point) They don't have any huge games left, and I think the media will start to get bored unless Ryan is putting up huge numbers, which isn't what he/BC does. This I agree with. His chances are all contingent upon BC winning, not necessarily what he does (within reason of course).
October 26, 200718 yr I'm glad Duece and GT have found something to keep them occupied since their respective teams have imploded this season. Anyway, as for the Heismann... If you're going on pure skill, Woodson is clearly a better QB than Ryan (IMO of course). However, we all know that alone won't win you the Heismann. I think if they gave the award TODAY, Ryan would win it. Tebow second, Woodson third. However, the media love is changing weekly. Woodson would've won it after the LSU game, and Tebow would've won it after the UK game. All three still have a very good chance to win depending on how the season plays out. For Woodson to win, UK needs to win out. If that happens, they'll finish up the season with back to back wins over traditional powers UGA and UT. This could garner him some attention and put him back in the spotlight. BTW, Woodson hasn't been held under 200 yards passing, or under 2 TDs in a game (he's only been held under 3 once). Neither Tebow nor Ryan can say that. I think Tebow can still win even if UF loses another game. They have UGA and USC on the road. As long as he only loses one of those two, he's got a good shot. Pretty much dead on from top to bottom. Signed, A reasonable yet passionate UK fan.
October 26, 200718 yr If that were truely the case, Brohm would be ahead of both. Correct? Brohm 2,993 yards, 374 ygp, 25 TDs (1 rushing), 6 INTs, Team is 4-4 with a fairly weak schedule. Woodson 2,201, 275 ypg, 29 TDs (3 rushing), 4 INs, Team is 6-2 against a very tough schedule. Woodson has more TDs, and last time I checked scoring is the name of the game.

What was beautiful on that last throw was the two offensive lineman that grabbed the defensive lineman's jersey and dragged him to the ground. The most beautiful part is that there was no call.

You know good and well GT and I would still being doing this if both our teams were in the Top 10. When people have weak arguments, they need to be called out. I would expect the same. FWIW, I agree with most of your post.

Individual award...To me that means it doesn't matter what the team is doing...And for the record, UK has played three "very tough teams." They were 1-2 in that stretch...

October 26, 200718 yr Individual award...To me that means it doesn't matter what the team is doing...And for the record, UK has played three "very tough teams." They were 1-2 in that stretch... Since the Heismann is an individual award, Woodson's stats over those 3 games: 79/128 (61.7%) - 892 yards (297ypg, 7ypa) - 11 TD (1 rushing) - 3 INT In the Florida game: 35/50 (70%) - 415 yards (8.3 ypa) - 5 TD - 0 INT I mean, if a QB throws for 415 and 5 TDs, he should win, right??
October 26, 200718 yr Which is 2 more than UL has played, and 3 more than Boston College has played. UL's QB is apparently out of the race, so irrelevant, and BC is undefeated...

Yes sir. :thumb: But we both know that a defense has cost Mr. Brohm a chance at the trophy, so shouldn't the same be used against Mr. Woodson?
