There are plenty of Big 10, Big 12, C-USA, SEC, MAC, and even Mountain West teams in the central and mountain time zone. Not even talking West Coast.

The columists were off the top of my head. Mortensen is from Atlanta. Bob Holtzman and Ed Werder from the midwest and Shelley Smith from out west. More east than west.

So ESPN is the one to decide that all of those teams HAVE to play on Thursday. The other schools could lobby for it. Although now that you mention it I'm fairly certain that they want to feature east coast teams in the Thursday night games because, maybe, just maybe the majority of the country lives in the Eastern Time Zone. Your arguments for basketball and MLB ring hollow since there is ALWAYS a late game.

You see what you have to do is go to this website. Its espn.go.com. Then you pick out a sport out of the tabs on the front page. Then you look about halfway down the page and you'll see a list of columnist for that sport. From there you can look up a bio on each...........

Sounded like you were gonna get them. I'm just wanting to hear the balance you feel there is at ESPN.

I read them every day, evidently most of you don't ........

You mean the one he threw backwards after already being wrapped up...Im pretty sure it was his decision to throw the ball...

Oh, thats right. You have selective memory. I was talking about the first one where he gets hammered pretty quick and loses the ball that is run in for the TD.

The one you are talking about, it was his decision to throw the ball. You know as well as I do QB's dont like to take sacks, and he saw an open guy. Probably thought it was going to be a forward pass and it wasnt. Oh well, he screwed up. At least he had someone hanging off of him when he made a terrible throw.

He played good for TWO minutes. Nice. If Virginia Tech had a decent offense those two minutes wouldn't have mattered.

I guess I can only read so much fluff about Tebow, BC, the Pats, etc.

You're right, the Pats and BC are undefeated--but they're ALL FLUFF....:sssh:

So instead of taking a sack, you give up a touchdown to the other team? Solid....

You're right (no personal attack intended)...:thumb: Ryan is ahead of Woodson in the Heisman race, and rightfully so.

The Heisman is an individual award, right? Woodson's numbers are much better. Not to mention he's led Kentucky to one of the best starts they've had in years, with a win over the former #1 team in the nation. If Ryan is ahead of Woodson in the Heisman race it is not by much.

If that were truely the case, Brohm would be ahead of both. Correct?

I'm sure that was the plan all along.

I mean, he should never throw the ball again. He might turn the ball over. If there is any pressure from now on, I hope Andre' just drops and takes the sack.

It should be an individual award based on the level of competition played. If not then every little RB or QB in the weak conferences would lobby for the Heisman when they put up big numbers.

Okay, I should have added "within reason" it is an individual award. I do not think a guy who fails to lead his team to wins over Syracuse or Connecticut should be included in the Heisman race. Don't get me wrong, Brohm is a great QB. But you and I both know he's not in the Heisman race at all. When you have a guy who has lead an SEC team to a 6-2 start vs a guy who has led his ACC team to a 8-0 start the records might not matter as much. Woodson has 26 TD's and 4 INT's. I don't see how anyone could be too far ahead of him in the Heisman race.

I'm glad Duece and GT have found something to keep them occupied since their respective teams have imploded this season.

Anyway, as for the Heismann...

If you're going on pure skill, Woodson is clearly a better QB than Ryan (IMO of course). However, we all know that alone won't win you the Heismann.

I think if they gave the award TODAY, Ryan would win it. Tebow second, Woodson third.

However, the media love is changing weekly. Woodson would've won it after the LSU game, and Tebow would've won it after the UK game. All three still have a very good chance to win depending on how the season plays out.

For Woodson to win, UK needs to win out. If that happens, they'll finish up the season with back to back wins over traditional powers UGA and UT. This could garner him some attention and put him back in the spotlight.

BTW, Woodson hasn't been held under 200 yards passing, or under 2 TDs in a game (he's only been held under 3 once). Neither Tebow nor Ryan can say that.

I think Tebow can still win even if UF loses another game. They have UGA and USC on the road. As long as he only loses one of those two, he's got a good shot.

BC must win out for Ryan to win. They don't play another ranked team, and his stats aren't good enough for him to win with 1 loss. (19TD, 8 INT, 1 rushing TD at this point) They don't have any huge games left, and I think the media will start to get bored unless Ryan is putting up huge numbers, which isn't what he/BC does.
