Beechwood got robbed. Those refs need to be fired. Beechwood's Cody Elliott was four feet in the endzone. The back ref called it a touchdown but the side judges ignored him. Then the refs didn't get the ball set until 15 seconds had ran off the clock. This game was not won by Cov Cath. It should have been a tie and gone to OT. Worst reffing I have ever seen. Beechwood, you did not lose this one, don't let it get you down!!!!!!

 

You can never count on the refs to get it right. That is why you do not run the ball in that situation. There were bad calls on both sides of the ball, just like every football game ever played. I am sure that Beechwoods coach is very good at what he does, but his play calling at the end of the game was bad.:walk:

Looks as if it was a tough, hard, defensive game.

I don't thonk there was a single penalty called vs CoVCa th all night. That is just a comment and not a complaint as I did not see any missed calls. I fail to understand the Beechwood play calling. It was not that they did not pass often enough, it was that every call until the final drive was a bomb and there were only 2 receivers down field. On the final drive the coaches began calling for short passes and the receivers made great runs after the catch. Beechwood looked to be totaly disorganized throughout the entire game.

I was too far away to comment about the touchdown call (or lack thereof), but Beechwood players up and down the line raised their arms in the TD signal.

Any positive comments concerning the lighting are mis-placed. The lighting was terrible in quantity and naturally the towers were only about 20' off the ground.

Of course The Tiger players would signal touchdown . It was a natural reaction , but on TV it looked like he was short of the goal line . Then the Chinese firedrill ensued on the last play and it was over . Again the lighting looked good on TV .

I wouldn't call this an upset, Bwood is a very good team, it's hard to call 5A win over a 1A win an upset when these two battle.

Looks like a bunch of excuses to me. This game was won by CCH at least thats what it says in the record books. Their was a huge fumble that CCH obviously fell on and the refs didnt call it a fumble. That would have been a huge swing toward CCh's side down deep in Beechwoods territory.

Unfortunately, I did not set any extra time up on the DVR and missed the final plays. From my vantage point, I could not see if Elliott got in. It sure looked like the line judge was immediately marking it short.

 

Was it #56 who was trying to line up to take the last snap? If so, a)where was Elliott and b)who took #56s spot on the line?

I thought it was #25 or #26 who got under center and fumbled on the last play . But then again I could be mistaken .

Right you are about that fumble. Replay on TV showed th RB not even being close to being down. They did not show a replay of Elliots sneak, but I thought it looked like he was in. Refs made mistakes both ways, too bad the mistakes may have been game changing calls or non calls. Furnish looks good for CCH. Nice game Colonels.

Any word on what happened to Cody on the last play? He certainly took a poundung last evening - slow to get up on several plays. He is a gamer in my book!

Worst time management by coaches that I have ever seen at any level. That was in a word "Terrible". CovCath looks to be on the rise. Where do they go from here. What is their remaining schedule?

 

IMO, thought it was a little cheezy by Coach Rash for not taking full blame on the outcome of the game. The game should never be decided by poor officiating. If you let that be your fate - then one should look in the mirror.

 

"It was mishandled at the end by me," said Beechwood coach Noel Rash. "... I let too much clock run before I called my timeouts. I didn't want to give them enough time to get a field goal.

 

"It was mishandled by me, but it was mishandled by others. It's that simple."

 

I am quite certain that the Beechies will recover and will continue their march to the State A title in December ! :thumb:
