How bad was Elliott injured ?

Hey back at you genius, clock does not stay stopped for an offensive penalty. Offense cannot create a situation where a penalty is to their advantage when it comes to the clock stopping. I'm not sure if high school has the equivalent, but in the pros there is some kind of run off of the clock. Time ran out with BHS scrambling with their QB hurt and an extra down to play. What more proof do you need that it was bad clock management. The coaches have to account for the possiblity that they don't get in on 2nd down whether it's the defense stopping them or a bad call. I'm going to throw one more totally blown call. How about the pass interference that was not called on 3rd down? That would have been a first deep in BSH territory. The receiver was clearly hit early even though he caught the ball, it's still a penalty.

 

I apologize to you for taking my comment personally(just having some fun) but maybe learn the rules before you open and insert the feet. If there were a flag thrown, the clock would have been stopped to discuss the penalty. The white hat has to find out what the penalty is, therefore, the clock would have been stopped to signal the penalty. Assuming CCH would have taken the penalty putting BHS back to the 5/6, BHS would have been waiting for the ball to be spotted and the whistle, giving them one last shot since there was approx 3 sec remaining when the last snap was fumbled. Now, correct me if I am wrong.

 

Main thing is, no matter what we believe to be right or wrong, CCH wins and good for them. Once the tape is sent to the Head of Officials in NKY and the state, this crew will probably not be assigned to any play-off games in the near future. Funny how alot of acquantances I know to be CCH grads/faithful have called or emailed saying "Elliott was in!" That is good enough for me! This game gives the parents bragging rights for another yr and a great money maker for the schools. Looking forward to many more exciting games between the two so we can do it all again next yr.

Lets save the rumors until you can actually confirm them. The last thing that any athlete needs is someone taking pot shots at them because they heard that the player in question was hurt from reading this website.

 

The only thing that I will say is this: people keep bringing up clock management. It just goes to show that many of you don't see things out side of what you normally see. If Beechwood scores .... and whether they kick or go for 2 ... there is no time on the clock. I doubt that many of you can/will wrap your mind around that one.

Wrap your mind around this... First and goal. Wouldn't you like to have 4 shots at the endzone versus one or two? The qb grounding the ball would have stopped the clock and would have allowed Beechwood to take another shot or two for a TD. I simply do not buy - not giving CCH time to kick a field goal after the tie score. I have enough faith in Beechwood's D-line and secondary to prevent that from happening. Take the points and play good D for a tie...

That was a good game for ONE team. I can't believe that every interview with Cov. Cath. coaches and players Highands is always mentioned. They just beat Beechwood in a close one and the Cov. Cath. players are still talking about "That Team From FT. THOMAS".

Question if The QB was hurt why wasn't the game stopped for an injury? I assume he didn't stay down?

When people talk about how a game never comes down to just one play, well, this was that game. It should have been this one last play or least two or three plays at the end that never happened. Beechwood let this get away. Oh well 14 - 1 still won't be bad!

Beechwood got robbed. Those refs need to be fired. Beechwood's Cody Elliott was four feet in the endzone. The back ref called it a touchdown but the side judges ignored him. Then the refs didn't get the ball set until 15 seconds had ran off the clock. This game was not won by Cov Cath. It should have been a tie and gone to OT. Worst reffing I have ever seen. Beechwood, you did not lose this one, don't let it get you down!!!!!!

I was once told (by an official) that any ref on the field who is able to see something should call it. I guess different officials say different things.

Anybody got any stats on this game? What about a game video? I know, thats probably asking too much, but some stats would be nice Its kinda hard to tell much from the video clips in the earlier part of the thread.
