Could this be the best HHS team ever?

No, I can think of a few teams that were better (98, 00, 01, 04). I don't mean for it to sound like we have a bad team at all, but the first 3 had better offenses and 04 had a better defense. With that said, I believe this team is very balanced between O and D. They are very solid on both sides of the ball. If they lose a game the rest of the season, I would be extremely suprised.

That was a great cheer, many a time my ears heard and my mouth did speak/shout that old classic

"...sooo we tell them..."

Wanted to stop by and congratulate HHS.

I thought TM would do MUCH better. But the slow start killed them.

Both teams made a ton of mistakes. But TM not scoring from the 1 then dropping the TD pass on 4th down was just crazy. Then the first half fumble in the Red Zone hurt as well. Of course TM needs to learn how to play Run defense. That was killing them all night. That and the kickoffs by TM. lots of lost yardage there. and HHS kicker was in the end zone everytime. I also can question the fake punt call, they were stuffing HHS O at the time. Pin them back and gain some field position.

TM will be fine for the playoffs, D2 is not as grueling as D1 in Ohio. And to be honest HHS runs the ball very well, their OL is VERY good.

Always been a big Trotwood fan. Think the world of their AD, Jim Ladd; great guy and Maurice is a great guy. Would love to see them win it this year. If not Trotwood I'd like to see Toledo Central Catholic

Birds:

The whole darn town is proud of you! You stuck together and played nearly flawless football and that is what was needed to beat such a talented team. This is truley a team of dedicated young men.

Stick together, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors and enjoy the season together! You are an amazing group of footballers...

Hats off to Trotwood... they played hard, they kept their cool and were gracious to the the Bluebirds in defeat. Good luck the rest of the season!

Congrats to HHS, nice to see them finally beating a quality opponent from across the river. I had to laugh when some Yappi poster actually wanted to claim HHS as one of their own. Ru, I know you've seen both, how do HHS and BG stack up?

couple of write ups on the game.

What a great team win for the Birds!! The coaches put together an awesome game plan that hit the Rams right out of the box. The two quick scores really put them on their heels and they never recovered. The offensive line played one heck of a game!! They were "awesome" as coach would say.

I also thought coach W did a great job with the defense!! When they went to the spread it took us a few series to adjust but we were able to close that down over time.

Our kicking game continued to be excellent!!! Zachs punts were great and Drews kicks were to the rear of the endzone everytime.

From what I can see we are witnessing a very special team this year and i am very proud of them!

AWESOME home page for your team! Who does the work?

I'd be interested in hearing the Ru's analysis/comparison also. Then again, there's a lot of games and a lot of good teams that we'll have to beat before that matchup happens.

Wanted to stop by and congratulate HHS.

Interesting points TM and gracious of you to come back and post. The TM guys are excellent athletes and a handfull will be playing on the major networks most Saturdays over the next few years. A couple may even be playing on Sundays. I thought they played a clean game as far as sportsmanship as well. Personally I thought they adjusted in the 2nd qtr to the Birds and started going with their bread and butter which was get the ball in the hands of the athletes and let them run. The QB was very good, he hung in there made some nice throws, tooks some jolting hits after throwing and had awesome speed.

I'm not understanding why they went foot to foot on that goaline stalled drive. As big as their line was I was not impressed with their ability to push forward. I thought they should have spread the field and threw another screen but glad they decided to run up the gut.

This was a great game between two competetive teams and definitely worth the ticket price.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see the big win over TM but 250 rushing is hard to beat. I have seen BG. They have an outstanding team. Offensively, excellent RBs, QB D1 passer with speed 80 yd TD run against Trinity, 2 D1 receivers. Very good defense. only weakness I saw was depth, they ran out of gas a little bit in the 4th against the Rocks and that hurt them.

I'd like to hear the Guru's impression of a possible BG and HHS game and his thoughts on Trinity and Cincy St X now that he has seen them all in person.

Awesome victory Birds!:dancingpa Total team victory. Great job by #33 Hurtt, RB/ LB/ Punter, the punt late in the game out of their endzone was critical. Also longsnapper #13 Jurgens was flawless. O-line was just great, and what can you say about the D? Only giving up 6 points in the 2nd half is incredible. Great win guys. 2 down 13 to go:banana:

What an outstanding game to watch! It was a great feeling walking out of a big venue on Labor Day weekend with a win under our belts! Congratulations boys, this one was HUGE.

Couple of things that stood out to me. 1.) Bathiany...what can you say? Only one kickoff that didnt make it to the endzone and the coverage was good enough to stop the return at the 21. 2.) Defensive goal line stand at the 1. To be able to put that O line on their heels over and over again was flat out impressive. 3.) O line play was stellar on the run offense. Once again, bigger guys on the D line and on almost every play of the game they were stood straight up and pushed backwards. 4.) I have watched him play now for several years and in my opinion Collinsworth became a MAN last night. Blowing up at least two plays in the back field and then with rockets on his shoes tracked down the long pass play and got the tackle on about the 1 yard. That play was called back on a penalty anyway, but the speed was very impressive!

If you missed this one live, you missed a monster.

Excellent TEAM win guys, we look forward to many more this season!!!
