I backed my belief with a lot of praise for UK and simply think the road back to the top is just outside the 5 year window. No slamming UK. No snide remarks. But as usual you come along with the "they hate us" wa! wa! garbage. NEXT!!!

 

I just think its funny that you act like you do not hate UK, but are constantly critical of the program. Saying UK won't make it to the Final 4 in 5 years is just an example of what I mean.

Where was I critical other than pointing out the hurdles that Gillispie must clear to get to the top? Ignoring them because it makes you feel better about things is sticking your head in the sand. For example it's comical to say they will enjoy great success early, but the star players are going to stay long term. Those things do not go hand in hand. You want it both ways and I prefer to look at things in terms of reality. I guess if I'm a hater, you are a homer of epic proportions. Although I guess neither are new news around here...

That is so funny. I wish you could interview 100 people that know me well, they would literally die laughing at that notion. It couldn't be further from the truth.

 

What I believe is there are pessimists, there are realists, there are optimists, and then there are homers. The last group, regardless of affiliation, drive me crazy. I suffer them poorly. There are literally 10 examples a day on this site, in various forums and threads, of people stating ridiculous homerisms. That isn't being an optimist, it's being foolish. If you look at UK's program, with a coaching change to a coach who has a very small sample of success, enduring a culture shift in terms of playing style, it isn't hard to fathom that success may be difficult to tie down in the near future.

I was the first guy to predict 10 losses last year, so I know you're not dropping the h-bomb on me. And Billy G hasn't had a "small sample of success," he turned the programs around at both of his stops in very short order, and with a small fraction of the resources he enjoys at UK...It's not foolish to think he will be successful, it's all he's ever been...

 

A lot of professional writers have said he will win HUGE at Kentucky, and they are far from homers...

Just like things are getting better at those schools at a rapid rate as well. The young UL team that UK played was not the team that finished the season and you know that. Gordon is IMO the best player in the 07 class and DJ White is a stud down low. Clearly better. Add Tyler Smith to a young UT team with an All American senior and guess what? They clearly get better as well. That's what you are ignoring. I don't feel UK will improve as much as any of the three this season, although I do see them as not far behind. From there it's anyone's guess. You know that. Even if you are a homer...

Did I call you a homer in my post? I don't mix words, as you know, so if I didn't say you were being a homer than I don't think you are. I also think it is 100% unfair to assume that all UK fans that disagree with your personal stance are: a) wrong, b) pessimists, or c) not real UK fans.
