I think UK has a good shot at it, but I would like to see what happens this year before I make any assumptions for 5 years down the road.

No names will be given, but I will tell you that one is in the NBA and was a McDonalds ALL-AMERICAN. Three others play in the NFL right now. Liked the school and facilities, but didn't like the city and lack of activities compared to other places.

 

How about activities like getting an education and working on basketball so that they can develop into a legit NBA prospect?

They certainly could, I would not say it is a foregone conclusion, there should be a maybe category. I would like to see the progression over the next two years before I commit either way.

I was in Gatinburg in July and thought I saw Bruce Pearl and the team walking down the street going into the fudge shop.

I thought since the thread turned into things for players to do that I just as well join in.

I say UK reaches the Final Four within the next 5 years no doubt...especially if Billy G. keeps at the pace that he is right now with the recruiting he's doing...however this will only happen of course if the man can coach like he recruits, he did do a good job at Texas A&M so lets just hopes he does a much better job with the Big Blue

I give it 3 years. See the Cats in the Final 4 led by Patrick Patterson (if he decides to stay all 4 years). If he leaves, then no.

I think UK is putting together a pretty good nucleus right now. I think Meeks' senior year they will have a really nice team.

 

Meeks, Jasper, Strevenson, Patterson, Legion, Liggins, Miller. UK needs to add a couple more quality big men and then they will really be set.

So the fact one is in the NBA and three others made it to the NFL should carry less weight with a recruit than an exciting night life.
