Lofton??? He isn't going to be there next year, why would recruits care about that. I didn't know they didn't have football games or nightlife in Lexington?

 

Right now, I would probably much rather watch UT or Florida play football than UK. Bigger stadium. Warmer weather. Lexington's nightlife is garbage compared to other places, and I've heard recruits that play football and basketball say so. Plus, I live kind-of close.

Where was I critical other than pointing out the hurdles that Gillispie must clear to get to the top? Ignoring them because it makes you feel better about things is sticking your head in the sand. For example it's comical to say they will enjoy great success early, but the star players are going to stay long term. Those things do not go hand in hand. You want it both ways and I prefer to look at things in terms of reality. I guess if I'm a hater, you are a homer of epic proportions. Although I guess neither are new news around here...

Okay lets reflect the last 3 seasons.

 

I said in 2005 that UK was an Elite 8 team with Final 4 potential. I was constantly disagreed with by you and several others. Well they were an Elite 8 team and after the overtimes they just fell short of being a Final 4 team.

 

In 2006 I thought UK was a Sweet 16 team, but I was wrong about that, I don't know what you said about that team whether it was saying they were a round of 32 team or a first round loser team.

 

In 2007 I said that the team is probably a Final 32 team, that would be better than the year before and I do think they were a little better team. You said that Villanova would beat them and that did not happen.

 

I think I have been pretty objective myself most of the time.

Lexington has a good enough night-life. And really if you're a coach are you recruiting players for the night-life or to play basketball? Players get suspended for enjoying the night-life too much so that takes care of that theory. Ya know lots of people here live "kind-of" close to Lexington or even in Lexington and I'm sure some people probably liek teh night-life in Lex. It's one's opinion on the matter, and who are the players that supposedly said that the night-life wasn't good at UK? Carruth?
