I think a better question would be, if Gillispie does not make a Final Four in 5 years, will he be on the hot seat?

I would think that is an easy answer.................Yes (LOL). With the 18% if he does not go unbeaten and win national title THIS season long with every other he will be on the hot seat. :D

From the looks of these predictions, if he doesn't win a Championship in 5 years he will be.

But UK fans never were known for there unrealistic expectations. :p

O.K., We have had one on Tenn, and Louisville so I will start one on UK. Will U.K. basketball be in the final four within the next 5 years? What say you?

I think Gillispie can lead UK back to the promised land " The Final Four"

:D

You were beating up on Mike Davis' IU teams, we don't even claim them. My high school could have put up a game on those guys.

There's a new sherrif in town.......

Wow:eek: , Could your h.s. team have went to the NCAA final four and NC game?? :scared: .....that is one heck of a h.s. team. :D

I think we will make the final four within the next four years..However I know over the last two years I keep seeing people use the final four as the measuring stick if the season was a great season or not. But I could be wrong about this but just getting to the final four especially when your one of the top programs in history is not something to just hope for. I mean this is the only sport where I actually see people saying I hope we reach the SEMI-FINALS, I thought the goal was to be the CHAMPION. I mean its not like people get happy in other sports say like the NFL and making the AFC championship game and then losing. I never see that as the goal, so why in basketball do people use making the final four as the measuring stick? Making the final four is great and all, but unless you win the National Championship you would still end the season heartbroken. So all this fuss about making the FINAL FOUR just really confuses me, because I know what I want is a National Championship, not just an appearance in the semi-finals..

Has everyone forgotten that he has only been a head coach for 5 years? It's not like you can take traditionally atrocious basketball programs to the final four when they had never previuosly sniffed the tournament. UTEP and Texas A&M were merely stopping points on a much grander scheme for BCG. Pitino didn't go to his first final four until his 7th season, and his second one came at one of the most tradition rich schools of all time. Tubbs was a head coach for, wait for it, 7 years before sniffing the final four and winning his NC. I guess what I'm saying is give the guy some time. like two more years until his 7th season :sssh:

So you agree he hasn't been hugely successful yet. Simple as that.

Signing alot of guys doesn't make you a better recruiter. You have no idea if these guys from 09 and 10 are any good at all.

Also, to say that Gillespie is a better recruiter than Sampson and Pitino??? Come on....take the Blue Blockers off for just a minute.

I am talking about Tubby Vs Billy G.

Ooops.

Tubby's problem was evluating talent not recruiting it.

I would say it was a good mixture of both.

Incorrect. Tubby's problem was building relationships along the summer AAU trail at an early age. Well, that and having assistants that were about as connected as Pankau... ;)

I just hope he fixes the recruiting within the next 5 years. If he can do that and put some talent on the floor who develop chemistry, the rest will fall into place.

:thumb: :thumb: I have to agree with this, especially about the dead beat assistants. (Hansen and Rigot specifically)

Billy G took programs WAY down and brought them up to a level they hadn't been at in short order. The excitement has to be there with possibilities at UK with even better talent, much more support, and tradition. He has proven he can coach and he can recruit. Now we will see if he can do it at the highest level. I am betting he can.
