Check the attitude at the door amigo. I was the first one anywhere to say he is the perfect guy for the job. However he is still new to the national stage, he's yet to advance past the Sweet 16 and he also has a roster that needs some more work to reach title contender status.

 

One big factor working against him on the recruiting trail (he lost Zeller, Jennings, Czyz and it's not looking good on the other bigs he targeted) is that while he is rock solid in the Texas area he does not have great connections nation wide on the AAU circuit. Will he develop them? No question, but it's going to take some time. That's a hurdle that doesn't have to be crossed at UL and IU, and Pearl has a two year head start at UT. In a five year window UK sits 4th in this group evaluating things as they stand right now. You can be a homer all you want, but those are the facts...

I mean hugely successful as in building good programs starting from less than scratch...

BCG has run the same system at both stops with vary little variance. Tubby talked about change every off season as well. I'll believe it when I see it...

We shall see, we shall see. I'm almost always right about how good UK teams will be. And not being a homer either - I was the first to predict a 10-loss season last year. BCG will win HUGE at UK. Write it down.

 

BTW, you still are seeming to forget that UK just got through beating all three of those teams with a team that was one of the weakest you will ever see at UK...

I'd definitely have UL, UT and IU a notch above UK in projecting something like this right now...

I can understand the skepticism. I think landing Patterson was huge and hastened the turnaround. Stacked with guards and now only one more 5-star big man away from being fearsome.

And I'm sure the UL and IU crowd feel the same about Smardo Samuels and Devin Ebanks. All three schools are recruiting very well right now, and it should produce some very exciting hoops for years to come...
