Rex Cooksey Fairview's Head Coach

Who was it that said Cooksey would be named Head Coach, I'm trying to remember, oh that's right, it was me.

I think it will go something like: "Do to the late vacation of the head football coaching position, we the administration, thought it would be better to fill the position from someone who knows the kids and the program, so we are proud to announce that past coach Rex Cooksey will be filling the position, again, as head football coach of Fairview Independent Schools".

So, I will say this and defer to everyone else,,why is it that when the tides seem to be turning in a positive direction in the Fairview program(s) that Rex interjects himself back into the drivers seat? You said it. Who knows? But I believe he knows something on someone. I wouldn't be shock to see Jeff Hall take over the basketball portion.

It seems to me that Rex is only warming the seat for Nate McPeek to get enough expierence so he can slide over into the head position. Uncle Gary McPeek never takes a job without an agenda, or so it seems. Just ask the people at Hazard, East Carter, Greenup County, Russell, Lawrence County, and Boyd County. I don't think that I've left off any of McPeek's stops, but if he holds the current pattern he'll be gone at Fairview in 3-4 years.

Cooksey will NEVER give up basketball and from talking to people within the Fairview organization Jeff Hall has no interest in being head coach. I know that sounds crazy considering his son plays for Fairview. I would love to see Jeff Hall as the head coach at Fairview but it is not going to happen.

The good ol boy system is alive and well in Fairview. Bill Musick's Son doesn't make all-area a couple of years ago blames Coach Tackett for that, so its time to show Mr. Tackett who is BOSS an in this case I don't mean Springsteen, he gets a couple of his school board buddies, and a certain other coach to go along with it and as quick as you can say Chad resigned they get the "Godfather" of Fairview athletics to step in.(Ram I apologize for ever doubting you). The time is NOW for the parents of the kids to stand up and say enough is enough 3-4 individuals will not control the entire athletic dept at Fairview. It's to late for Chad but, make Coach Cooksey decide if he is a football or a basketball coach because in this day and time you can not be both

I don't have a dog in the fight either, but I do have problem when I see an athletic dept like Fairviews that with mostly parents involvment have risen from the ashes to respectibility state-wide be brought down by a few egotistical driven men. I ask the people that have the evidence to bring it forward and show the people of Westwood the way the leaders of their children truly are

And the people of Westwood should be as mad as hornets at their Admin. I had the pleasure of visiting this week with a wonderful young man who plays for the eagles he said he didn't understand why people didn't like Coach Tackett he said he explained everything without going insane, an 90% of all the kids would run through the wall for him, also Chad called them together and tried to explain what was going on an that he did not want to leave but he had no choice
