May 9, 200719 yr I'll leave this thread with this. Jeff Ruby is VERY far from a good guy. In living down here I've never heard anything good about the guy. If you become a Jeff Ruby customer because of this, you've been played. I'm done here...

May 9, 200719 yr He added that the next day in the restaurant, "Nobody in Louisville was talking about who won the Derby, who lost, what happened to the favorite, or the Queen. They were just talking about 'O.J. got thrown out of the place.'" Case in point...

May 9, 200719 yr I don't see why this should affect anyone's decision eat there either way. It won't make me eat there or keep me from eating there but I respect his right to deny someone service.
May 9, 200719 yr He wouldn't be allowed to serve himself... Apparantly his wife shouldn't try to eat there either. Ruby's Wife Arrested. POLICE Ruby's wife arrested Rickelle V. Ruby, 46, of Anderson Township, wife of Cincinnati restaurateur Jeff Ruby, was arrested Sept. 12 for driving under the influence and then assaulting a deputy. A Hamilton County Sheriff's Department deputy stopped her when he saw the car she was driving make erratic lane changes on Interstate 275 between U.S. 52 and Five Mile Road in Anderson Township. She was taken to the sheriff's Beechmont substation and booked for DUI and the lane-change violation. While there, court documents note, she became "combative" and was placed in a restraint chair after allegedly kicking Lt. Galen McKendry in the right leg. As a result, she also was charged with resisting arrest and assault on a police officer, charges that carry at least one year in prison upon conviction.
May 9, 200719 yr Didn't Ruby jump out of his wife's car at high speed while on a coke binge? He's had a few wives, and abuse has always been in question, right? Jeff Ruby has very little ground to judge anyone... Don't see anything about jumping out of his wife's car, but this is an interesting read for all those supporting Ruby and his moral high horse. Looks like maybe he should worry a bit about his own sins instead of casting stones at the the Juice. State of Ohio vs. Jeff Ruby Defendant, Jeffrey J. Ruby, appeals from his conviction and sentences for possessing crack cocaine, possessing drug paraphernalia, and theft. The convictions and sentences were imposed on verdicts of guilty returned by a jury. It's a little long, but I would suggest reading it before giving too much praise to Ruby for his O.J. embargo.
May 9, 200719 yr When he refuses service to EVERY person that walks in his doors that have been on trial and found not guilty, I will back him...Until then, I wont eat in his restaurant again. I'm sure that will cause him to rethink all this or possibly shut down. As for your location the past is 7-2 on titles however you want to slice it. The future is undetermined..........
May 9, 200719 yr Sadly, I think I agree. I don't see any reason to treat him any differently, according to the law, he's innocent. He was found NOT GUILTY not innocent. That's a big difference. In our legal system even if you believe that a defendant is guilty of a crime you cannot find them guilty if there is any reasonable doubt as to their culpability. However, it is beyond the power of the jury to find a defendant innocent, which would mean that they have no doubt that the defendant had nothing to do with it. Even if you have no personal doubt of a defendant's guilt you are requied to find them not quilty if the prosecution cannot produce adequate evidence to support their claim. OJ was found not guilty in the face of overwhelming evidence which resulted in him being found responsible in a civil suit. While I could care less or have any respect for Mr. Ruby's personal life I'm glad OJ had to go elsewhere. Ruby may be every bit as big a thug as OJ but at least he had enough class not to seat him.
May 9, 200719 yr Ah whatever. Congrats on having a spine, it's his business I don't see why it need's much applause, I'm not in his position, but honestly if you own the place. It's like your house, I'm not gonna let you in just because you're famous, and certainly not gonna have my staff serve you for such reasons especially if I think you're a bad person.
May 9, 200719 yr LOL, Let me get this straight, People are comparing someone's past drug convictions to a murder? LOL! Not that I am agreeing with that kind of drug use, but people do make mistakes and bad judgments in their lives, we all do! But did he kill anyone? NO! That was what? 6 years ago? It's not like it was last month. Maybe OJ has second thoughts about what people assume he did, but that isn't going to bring those two who were murdered back. Comparing apples and oranges here.
May 9, 200719 yr Ruby isn't far off. Birds of a feather, if you will... GT, I don't know how well you actually know him (not just what you read about him in the papers) but Ruby is actually a very nice, caring fellow ( a little cocky and goofy at times, I'll admit) but underneath a tough guy veneer is a great guy with a very big heart. I'm aware of some very charitable things he's done that he does not want made public which would have brought him a lot of very positive publicity if they had gotten out. You can be a cynic if you like and say Ruby only threw OJ out for the publicity. Knowing Ruby pretty well, I have a feeling Ruby can't stand OJ for what he believes OJ did and threw him out for that reason. Had I been in the restaurant that day, I would have applauded also. As for the whole innocence issue, don't forget a civil court found to that OJ did kill Nicole and if you followed the criminal trial you know that it was a circus and an embarrassment to the legal profession in my opinion.
May 9, 200719 yr Well, well, well, OJ is pulling the race card. Just heard on the news that OJ's attorney's are putting a case together against Ruby claiming he was thrown out of the restaurant due to race.
May 9, 200719 yr I don't know Jeff Ruby. I have never been to his steakhouse and probably couldn't afford to go if I wanted to. That being said, it is his business and he has a right to ask anyone to leave that he wants to. I, for one, wouldn't want to eat in the same room as O.J. - just seeing him with a steak knife in his hands would scare me.
