May 9, 200719 yr GT, I don't know how well you actually know him (not just what you read about him in the papers) but Ruby is actually a very nice, caring fellow ( a little cocky and goofy at times, I'll admit) but underneath a tough guy veneer is a great guy with a very big heart. I'm aware of some very charitable things he's done that he does not want made public which would have brought him a lot of very positive publicity if they had gotten out. You can be a cynic if you like and say Ruby only threw OJ out for the publicity. Knowing Ruby pretty well, I have a feeling Ruby can't stand OJ for what he believes OJ did and threw him out for that reason. Had I been in the restaurant that day, I would have applauded also. Did Ruby make a donation towards the scoreboard/ jumbotron during the Highlands' football field renovation?

May 9, 200719 yr I support what Ruby did because I would have done the same thing based upon my feelings toward OJ and what he did. ruby probably did it out of emotion without thinking. If he really wanted to make OJ feel bad he should have given him a table and then really bad slow service that would make him not want to come back and he would not have to deal with him again and no law suit.
May 9, 200719 yr I wonder if the publicity he had to know would come from this action was part of his motivation for doing so. How many other customers has he served whom have been acquitted of charges by a jury of their peers? Would he serve the Duke Lacross boys? That was my exact first thought. He sure has made sure people know about it, hasn't he?

I for one, agree. :thumb: I am in no way defending OJ...I think he was guilty, just like the majority of people. My problem is with Ruby's motive, and IMO he did it for the good of his restaurant, and nothing else. He may not have murdered anyone (technically speaking, OJ didn't either), but Ruby has little to no room to criticize anyone.

You and me both know that he tends to entertain people at other people's expenses. We have talked about this in the past. I applaud(sp) him for doing what's best for his situation on that certain day, but doesn't make Jeff a good person. IMO and i am entitled to that
May 9, 200719 yr It is his restaurant and he has the right to serve whomever he wants, however, that being said, O.J. Simpson stood trial and was found not guilty. Now while that doesn't necessary mean that he is innocent our constitution provides that a person is legal innocent unless it can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. With the circumstances of the trial as they are, I see no reason to treat O.J. any different that any other customer Ruby might have. I totally agree. His restaurant, he can serve who he wants, but O.J. was proven innocnet of the crimes in court. Every time this case is brought up, I think of my favorite line from the trial... "If the glove don't fit, you must acquit." :lol:
May 9, 200719 yr The prosecution was on top af that weren't they. Here OJ try on these blood soaked gloves that have been drying out for two months, and by the way wear rubber gloves too so they'll slip right on. What a joke.
