Upsets....

VCU is one of THE most athletic teams in the dance. I have them beating Duke, beating Pittsburgh, and then beating UCLA to get to the elite 8. I've been watching them awhile and they are playing very well at the right time of year. And lets not forget they played in the same conference as George Mason:thumb:

They've lost to Appalachian State, Xavier, Toledo, Hofstra, and ODU...

In their conference tournament they beat #9 Ga State, #4 Drexel, and #6 George Mason...SOS is ranked 126...they basically play 7 people...and don't shoot the three all that much, or well...

Their last starting 5 looks like this:

Will Fameni - 6'7", 240 lb.

Michael Anderson - 6'7", 190 lb.

Eric Maynor - 6'2", 165 lb.

B.A. Walker - 6'2, 160 lb.

Jesse Pellot-Rosa - 6'4", 195 lb.

subs:

Jamal Shuler - 6'3", 180 lb.

Calvin Roland - 6'10, 245 lb.

Not all the intimidating on paper..I guess we'll see.

1. ODU over Butler.

2. Winthrop over Notre Dame.

3. GaTech over UNLV.

4. Illinois over VaTech wouldn't suprise me at all.

5. Holy Cross wouldn't beat SIU if they played 5 times.

6. Gonzaga over IU is somewhat likely, IMHO.

7. USC is a fraud at a 5 seed, however, they should still beat the Hogs.

8. GW will give Vandy all they want...and then some. GW advances.

I don't understand for the life of me how people are picking Arkansas to upset USC when most people say they didn't deserve to win in the first place.

I think peope are thinking in this way. Their overall performance did not merit into the tournament but now that they are in they are a hot team. PLus USC is seeded too high.

IF UT and UVA make it to the second round and UT wins, I wouldn't consider it an upset.

With that said, I will call it now.

UVA could very well lose to Albany. I love my Cavaliers and it would be great to see them come out and put away a darn good team in the first round. Anyone that saw them play this year, knows that they go through LONG scoring droughts since they don't have a consistent 3rd scorer.

So I expect, hope, pray that UVA wins, but if they lose. You heard it from me first, it wouldn't be a SHOCKING upset to me.

You are harder on your team than most of the UK fans... ;)
