Britain Withdrawing Troops

The surge is intended to boost security forces in and around Baghdad. The British forces are located to the south. In a fairly peaceful part of Iraq...

Or it could be the retreat before the defeat, knowing that W has no clue and they have had enough. Otherwise, they would send those troops North to help with the SURGE, if they thought it had a chance.

The additional logisitical problems associated with sending a relatively small number of foreign troups with a different command structure and with different equipment needs offsets any benefit gained. If the US thought they needed an additional 1600 troups they would just add 1600 US troups and avoid all those logistical problems.

Or perhaps they could get 1600 Iraqi's to stand up and fight for themselves.

Nothing like putting a high value target in the middle of a civil war to draw the Brits back into it.

 You know, he isn't going to be wearing a crown or anything. He will look just like every other British soldier.
