February 9, 200719 yr UK has been showing interest recently in Jeffrey Jordan. Yes, that is the son of Michael. However, most expect this interest to be strictly of the walk-on nature. Jordan has been getting offers from low level D1 schools, but would like to be part of a big time program. There is a chance Miami (FL) could offer, but things are uncertain at this point. The thing about it is, I believe Michael could afford to send Jeffrey to school without a scholly. Nothing but good could come from this. Could you imagine having Michael inside Rupp Arena a few times a year for games? Having him in-house and able to meet recruits that come for games? Amping up the level of crowd intensity when he's there? I cant see any hesitation in asking Jeffrey to walk on at UK. I would almost think about offering him the scholarship Lucas has waiting for him if Lucas were to go elsehwhere. Hope UK can make this happen.
February 9, 200719 yr I agree with everything you said. Nothing but good things could come from this. I would love to see UK pick the kid up just because of his last name. I wonder if the Tarheels are giving him any though ? I would bet that many of the colleges that are considering him are recruiting the Jordan name and his father more than they are him.
February 9, 200719 yr How highly recruited was Mike out of high school, regardless, we all know the story and that he didn't blossom til late, more than once. If I was a gambling man.....
February 9, 200719 yr How highly recruited was Mike out of high school, regardless, we all know the story and that he didn't blossom til late, more than once. If I was a gambling man..... MJ didn't blossom late. He didn't play varsity as a SOPH but grew 4 inches to about 6'3 before his JR year. He averaged about 21 PPG and then averaged 29 PPG as a SR.
February 9, 200719 yr Maybe he would bring UK to Team Jordan... now that would be sweet..   That would be enough for you in itself, wouldnt it OR?!?!?!?!

February 9, 200719 yr How highly recruited was Mike out of high school, regardless, we all know the story and that he didn't blossom til late, more than once. If I was a gambling man..... That old story about Michael Jordan has been twisted over the years. It is true that Michael Jordan did get cut from the Laney High School Varsity team as a sophomore. He did play for the reserve or junior varsity team, however. I saw Michael play at the Five-Star camp in Pennsylvania between his junior and senior years in high school. He was named the camp MVP and Howard Garfinkle ranted and raved about him. He was a top recruit for North Carolina out of high school.
February 9, 200719 yr I think it would be great for UK's program. I attribute much of UNC success in recruiting to the MJ-effect, so for UK to get a piece of the pie, it would be wonderful.

This is correct. The elder Jordan actually averaged tripple double his senior year. There is another brother on the horizon that is a sophomore this year, and is a little better player I think. It will be interesting.
February 9, 200719 yr Talent wise nothing too great right now. I watched a high shool game on espn with them two playing (marcus and jeffrey) and neither one showed great skill. Although that is one game so I dunno about the whole season!
