I know "we" all want to get every call right but that is such a turnoff watching high level basketball.  The flow of the game gets interrupted multiple times.

Yep, and I've seen plenty of high school basketball and football games where there have been lots of clock errors. I know we want perfection, but its just not going to happen. There are certainly going to mistakes and growing pains, but it will get better.

There are several things that could be done to improve high school basketball in KY.  Better, and more consistent, officiating would top my list.  Tightening up the transfer rules and enforcement of the rules would help as well.  

I like the idea of a shot clock and 35 seconds is more than enough time to get a decent shot.  Plus, if the defense is good enough to keep their opponent from getting a shot in 35 seconds more power to them.  I understand all of the logistical problems and the people pointing them out have some good arguments.  

As far as a rules change that would make a big difference goes I'd love to see KY adopt the Elam ending.  I hate when a tight games turns into a foul fest during the last 2. minutes.  That's the definition of boring basketball.

This is way out of hand.  All you have to do is have the money to hire a lawyer and you can play 2 different sports at 2 different schools in the same year.  

Does an offense who rebounds get a full 35 seconds back or do we go down to 20 seconds?

There are so many questions to be answered with this new addition. You are talking about a whole new set of rules that will be added bc of this. I'm afraid the shortage of officials we have now will only get worse. The age of officials across the US are already at a high age and now you ask them to learn this whole new set of rules and cases. I'd be surprised if alot of those officials don't call it quits when this rolls out in a couple years. And people are asking about using JV officials well they are trying to learn just the basic rules and survive much less throwing them into a varsity game asking them to know when the clock resets or when it doesn't. They obviously haven't thought all this through. It will work out but why change a good thing for only a few games that are played with "using stall ball".  I wonder if they even looked at the games possessions per game and seen if a shot or turnover or change of possession period was caused after 35 seconds. I would say most possessions end before 35 seconds. Again it will all work out but I am not for it.

Studies have shown not many possessions last over 35 seconds and that scoring does not increase with a shot clock.

That is up to each state to decide.  I don’t think the KHSAA has decided yet.

That will be a decision that will be made by NFHS who oversees all High school rules.

Depends on who is operating the shot clock lol.

Schools who complain about not having workers for these things probably don't want to pay these positions.  Yes it is great for people to volunteer...but if you want it done right pay the folks for operating clocks.  

Most schools if they send out an email saying they will pay $50 for someone to operate the clock, will have plenty of takers!
