Which at the end of the day they were up 13 with 4 minutes or so to play. Then up 6 with under a minute to play and Fland grabs a defensive rebound but some reason decides to be lazy and just stands there with the ball down low allowing a tie up. Texas Tech had the arrow and made a three. Then Arkansas senior misses the front end of a one and one. Which allowed Tech a chance to tie it. Just complete failure by everyone on Arkansas. 

That philosophy can work when you have a set, but that last possession wasn't going to end with a good look and it didn't. Call the TO. They would've had 5 or 6 seconds to work with. 

 

I understand the concept, but it needs to happen under somewhat controlled conditions. That was a typical Calipari collapse.

What happened down the stretch was a complete lack of toughness from the Razorbacks.

Cal with another post season collapse, just letting his guy take an iso ending in tough contested miss. End of regulation maybe foul up 3. Where have I seen that mistake before? Oh Yeah Florida last year as all of us in Rupp Arena that night who were yelling to foul up 3. Cal going stall ball and his guys playing a little to relaxed on defense spelled doom, if it's the same ole song and dance you have to pin it on the common denominator. 

Regardless of the loss, Arkansas making the Sweet 16 was a win for Cal being in his first year. The last few minutes of the game was rough to say in the least.

Does D3 still not offer athletic scholarships? May be exactly why if NIL and money was the driving force.

Dang, the human need to sleep robbed me of seeing an incredible finish. 

As per usual, Cal at his finest!! No timeouts, no set plays or strategy, let’s just hope his team can make terrible shots with absolutely no guidance from the bench!! Should we have expected any less? Answer is NO!

D3 doesn't give athletic scholarships while D2 does. St. Francis is also joining the Presidents Conference in Division III, which consists almost entirely of Pennsylvania schools. It has an enrollment of around 2,000 students which made it the smallest school in D1 and would have also been a small school in D2. In D3 it will be about the standard size.

I think you will see more of this with smaller, private schools in the coming years. They need the tuition money paid by students and athletes, not to be paying out NIL, etc.

I'm looking at Cal as being "one of the guys" for not calling timeout. If anyone has watched a college basketball game this year, everyone knows with stoppages, teams don't really have 4 timeouts any longer, they have 12.

Kidding aside, the timeout vs. no timeout thing has always been the funniest with me with anti-Calipari folks. You rail on the dude for being the worst X's and O's coach to ever walk the face of the earth, then you scream from the mountain tops how bad Calipari sucks for not calling a timeout so he can draw up X's and O's.

I believe Arkansas should have taken a timeout, but it would have been best served after the Texas Tech made basket. By the time Wagner got to the front court, it was right on the edge.

This has been Arkansas all year. They can score in quick bunches and have quick bunches scored on them. Great fight by the Red Raiders for taking advantage and not giving up down the stretch.
