Does the name Nate Ponzer mean anything to anyone?

Yes he is busy being a principal at Twenhofel so I believe he is out. Or he would have been the head coach when Marksberry retired.

Anyone have any ideas on how many interviews or who applied?

Nope just waiting patiently for a new coach!

Should be several good applicants for this job.

Was told today from someone very close to the program they have applicants from multiple states. Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio, etc etc. Interviews are supposed to start this week.

That is pretty awesome!

It would be a great job for the right guy.  Large school with a lot of winning tradition, great facilities, a growing community in Independence, consistently has great athletes in all sports, great community support.  If they get the right guy who can bring in a hard working culture they could be a real problem in a few years.  Personally I would choose a guy with more of a defensive background and let him bring in an offensive coordinator who runs a balanced scheme.  You have to be able to run the football and control the clock in high school football.  You can’t bring in the guy who runs the uptempo spread offense and put huge numbers up but loses in the 2nd and 3rd round every year.  If you are going to play with the big boys in Louisville you better be able to run the football.

And stop the run.

All my sources have nothing for me so it should be pretty interesting who they hire. Nice Christmas present!

Would love to see the list.

So would the rest of us ?

I would think when discussing football jobs this is the best vacancy on the board. I imagine a lot of names would be in this pool. NKY is in a really good run for football and SK is always one of those jobs I thought that was very attractive.
