Old 606 you must have been partaking in some of that stuff that was imported in from Clay County if you think Pikeville would be a factor in almost any class in the state other than class A. The only reason Pikeville has been dominant for the past decade is because they play class A football. If they were in any other class they would be a good team that occasionally makes it to the semis or every 7-8 years might make it the Kroger field. Those are the facts like it or not.

I 100% agree with you and you can also add Coach Listerman to that list but no one has taken the program to the level that Coach Rusthatz has and I don’t know what Oracle was referring to in regard to integrity. I don’t know any of the other former coaches he mentioned but I do know Coach Rusthatz and I don’t know if I know anyone who has more integrity than he does.

Sounds like Oracle has a axe to grind. Probably had a kid who couldn’t make the team. Let’s be for real here transfers have been part of this game forever and has only become more prominent over the past 20 years. When you have a program like Coach Rusthatz built at CCH kids wanted to come play there and for him. And when a transfer kid comes that is another kid who has been there for years who put in a lot of work who didn’t make the team. Sorry Oracle but life goes on maybe the kid can play drums in the pep band.

I love O’Hara but it’s going to be a lot tougher this year with his top targets graduating. I agree with all the talk about the portal and NIL. It makes it much more difficult especially for high school QB’s. Transferring could help but where does he go? The only 2 places in Cincy that would be a major step up is Moeller and St. X and you already have Ohio Mr Football returning at Moeller and Herbsteit returning at St. X so neither of those programs need a QB. Maybe FD in Lexington or St. X in Louisville but not sure about their QB situation next season. I agree that it may be better for him to go to a MAC program where he has a chance to play right away and then transfer to a SEC, Big 10 or ACC program after a few solid years with some decent stats and good film. I think he probably checks all the boxes except maybe size. I wish the kid good luck.

Who is he going to throw the ball to at Walton? That is about the craziest thing I have seen on this site in a long time.

I have known Nick and his dad for many years and I can definitely vouch for their integrity. Coach Rushatz is one of the most ethical men I have ever known. I don’t blame Nick a bit for defending his dad and his family and calling out the disservice that has been perpetrated by all the “wizards behind their curtains” who want to control things at CCH. I am sure that at the end of the day that is what it came down to they could not control Coach Rusthatz so they want to remove him not only from the sidelines but from the program. It is a damn shame that a man and his entire family pour their lives into building something like he has built at CCH and he gets treated like this. A big boo to the administration at CCH and local Catholic Church leadership.

Of course Fryman could play QB and be very good. He could also play center, TE, LB and DT and be really good. The young man was offered a D1 baseball scholarship when he was in the 8th grade so we all know he is a phenomenal athlete that could play anywhere and be really good. The question is where would he be best for the team. If they have a good QB (which I think Queen is)then play Queen at QB and get the ball to Fryman 25 times a game and then you can also spread it around to Pabst, Arrosmith, Sowder, Aylor, etc… I think that is the best recipe for success for Beechwood offensively next year.

His film looks great I think Beechwood got an early Christmas present. And if he doesn’t work out you have multiple great options with Bo Sowder, Cole Coppage or what CC Highway suggested with moving Fryman to QB. It’s really a win win situation for Beechwood and personally I think the doubts around Queen are probably coming from disgruntled Cov Cath fans who are ticked off that he transferred to Beechwood. As I said earlier with Queen and all the playmakers Beechwood has the offense is going to be elite for the next 2 years. If you are going to beat Beechwood you better put 40-50 points on the scoreboard.

Thanks for the update GBR. Sounds like Mayfield will be right back in the thick of it again this season. They may make it back to Kroger Field but I gotta believe that Beechwood will be the team to beat in 2A again next year. They have a lot coming back and Fryman is a difference maker. He will undoubtedly be the best player in 2A next year.

I agree Fryman is special and he could be very effective at QB but I think he is better when he has the ball out in space. I would start Queen at QB and I would play Fryman at WR and run some wildcat with him. I would try to get him at least 25 touches a game. You have to remember that he is also very very good on defense and if he plays QB he probably plays less D. You also have Pabst, Aerosmith, Bo Sowder and Brody Aylor who are all really good. Offense should be elite the next 2 seasons. Still have to figure things out up front and on defense but the Tigers should be the favorite in 2A again this year.

Transferring from a private school to a public school should help. It’s not cheap to go to Covington Catholic so the family definitely has a legitimate reason for transferring. Where does the Queen kid live? Maybe his family will move into the Beechwood school district. If so I see no reason why he would not be eligible next season. If he is, look out because with those 3 skill guys Fryman, Pabst and Arrosmith (RB or WR whichever position they play) that offense will not miss a beat from this season. There is a little work to be done up front but the cubbard is definitely not bare. And all of players including Queen are sophomores so 2A will have to see those dudes (and they are dudes) for the next 2 seasons.

A big strong experienced group up front led by Louisville commit Max Merz, experienced talented QB returning, lots of talented experienced skill guys, lots of young really talented guys stepping up for their junior and senior seasons and the Lorenzen kid is a future power four kid who will be a difference maker on both sides of the ball. Looks like all the ingredients for a successful year. On paper they should be as good or better than anyone in 4A. I really like this team.

We will find out right away what Owensboro Catholic has. My guess is BG will put a running clock on them. Life after Brady Atwell is not going to be very much fun for OC.

With this schedule this team could lose 3-4 games but still be a state title contender. 4A is probably got more teams at the top who could compete for a championship than any other class in the state. There are probably 6-8 teams in 4A who are really good football teams. With that said I still think the 4A state champ will come out of NKY next season. Cov Cath or Highlands will win the championship next season.

Why not have a “Friends of Coal” bowl and invite 4 of the best programs in the state to square off and have it at a location in the state where the coal industry has played a major role in that community. You could have the teams come for a few days and have some educational programs to educate those young men about the role coal has played in our state. A place like Lynch would be a great example. US Coal practically built that entire community and the Lynch Bulldogs were consistently one of the top football programs in Kentucky during the 60s and 70s.

Looks like a 4 and 5 season with just the KY schools. I have no idea what Badin has.

SK has everything you need to compete for state championships. Large school with lots of players to choose from, Independence is one of the fastest growing communities in the state, great facilities, community support, etc…. Now can Coach Wynn bring in his own staff and put his mark on the program or will it continue to be score 42 points a game and hope the opponent scores 41. I sure hope he makes big changes and if he does I think in 2-3 years SK will once again be a state championships contender.

He probably sees the writing on the wall. If he wants to get a ring he probably knows it’s not going to happen at OC.

All NKY team was also recently announced. It has a lot of great players who didn’t even get a honorable mention on the All State team.

Just like every year Pikeville will beat the Dallas Cowboys if they were on the schedule. Yada yada yada……

The Burbage kid is a future all state caliber player. Is he related to Cornell Burbage who played at BS, UK and NFL? If so the genetics are definitely there. Other than that I think it will be a tough year for LCA but with 2A being so weak after the big 3 (Beechwood, Mayfield and LCA) they could possibly make a run but just like this year the semifinal is probably where it ends.

I saw WV play last year and they looked like a middle school team. They will be very young again next season. I think it’s going to take Coach Pence a few years to get them back to being competitive. If the administration is patient I think they can get back to being competitive in a few years.

Ryle has a lot coming back and I absolutely love the Savage kid (best on ball linebacker in the state this past season) but I don’t think they will have enough to beat Trinity or FD and you can never count St. X out. Ryle will be the bridesmaid again in 2025.

Maybe they will get theirs someday Subway but Nostradamus predicts it won’t be next year. They will be lucky to make it to the semi finals next season. Atwell completely carried that team on his shoulders and they really only played 2 really good teams last season and they lost to one of them in the finals.
