DearToday Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Another year, another year without winning the last one for the Eagles. They started off 0-2 with losses to Boyle and Franklin. But then ran off 11 straight including wins over Pikeville, CAL, and a clock runner over Mayfield at War Memorial before dropping to 2A State Champ Beechwood. I'm not sure how those within the inner circle of LCA feels, but it's tough to know to not be able to get it done after the win they had at War Memorial. They will have to replace a lot as they lose Hunter Adams LB, Jake Darby OL, Leland Edwards RB, Saxton Howard QB, Brooks Kerwin OL, Hayes Preston OL, and Trefor Thomas OL. LCA had a dominant run game with QB Howard and that huge OL, but they will all be gone. They do return Brody Adams, Jeremiah Burbage, Mac Darland, and their top 3 WRs in Sam Person, Daven Hood, and Tyler King. I'm sure they will play another top notch schedule, but not sure who all is on it. How do we feel about LCAs chances to get over the hump in 2025?
Bengal Boy Posted January 7 Posted January 7 The Burbage kid is a future all state caliber player. Is he related to Cornell Burbage who played at BS, UK and NFL? If so the genetics are definitely there. Other than that I think it will be a tough year for LCA but with 2A being so weak after the big 3 (Beechwood, Mayfield and LCA) they could possibly make a run but just like this year the semifinal is probably where it ends.

Belfry is dropping down to 2A next year, might add them with the big dawgs in 2A!
