It is all about defense for me FC. The teams still playing, including Alabama, are playing defense better than UK did at any time. If you want to hang your hat on the hope UK would have played better defense, that is on you.

As I said that exact same thing could have been said about Bama. Bama defense has been bad all year and I believe was ranked behind UK. Let’s not act like their defense has been much better in the tournament. In the first round against Charleston they gave up 96 points. Even more points than what UK gave up in its lost to Oakland. Then against UNC they gave up 87 points and 54 points in a single half. So it’s not like they are playing much better defense now besides for one game. The only difference is their offense didn’t lay an egg like UK did. Bama has been a great offensive team all year and a bad defensive team all year. Their offense kept playing great, even when giving up 96 and 87 points in two of its wins.

No matter who is on the court for Kentucky next year, they will miss Reeves. I think he was MVP for his team by far in terms of offense.

What is there to really regret about leaving if you’re are going to be a lottery pick? The only thing that possibly could regret is missing out on possibly being a legendary star. With that said comin

I have been doing a lot of reading on here,  X and other outlets and the really good news is that all the players committing are really the ones UK wanted and the ones going elsewhere were all just sm

Let's say, for giggles, that everyone yet to make a decision decides to stay.   And Cal has what, 5 or 6 incoming freshman, and he wants to hit the portal....Where are all these scholarships coming from?   D1 teams only get 13.

Past history has shown us, that generally, everyone that could possibly get drafted, even in the second round, will leave.  A couple will transfer as well.  It is generally safer to assume that no one will return, and be happily surprised when someone does.  I'll be shocked if more than 3 players, that were part of the rotation down the stretch, return for next season.

Thiero put a statement out today. From his statement, it sounds more like him wanting to test the NBA draft waters than actually transferring. Definitely left the possibility of returning to UK.

Good. UK needs him back.

Karter Knox has just decommitted and opened back up his recruitment. Probably the first of many, I would say all of the recruits will with the exception of Travis Perry.

Quantance or however you spell it has asked for his release

Has an official visit at Louisville this week.

Looks like based on their own IG posts, Big Z, Jordan Burks and Adou Thiero all were back on campus yesterday...  Reports have stated that Big Z has a meeting with The Pope this morning to discuss next season and if Big Z and Pope come together as a potential good fit for each other.  I can only assume meetings will also be had with Adou and Jordan.  It be nice to get any combination of these 3 back on the roster for next year.

I don’t think Wagner has mentioned the portal or anything yet. If Pope could get Wagner, Thiero, Burks, and big Z to stay that would be a great start. Then if somehow Sheppard came back, that would be amazing. Fill in the rest with a freshman or two and transfers.

Out of the recruits that were committed. The biggest one I hope Pope can get to stay is Somto Cyril. Have someone like him to rotate in with big Z would be huge IMO.

Also, note worthy that came out of the Press Conference was Pope alluding to the fact that we might do a series with St. Johns....  at Rupp this coming season and then at the Garden the following season.  Coach Pitino, acknowledged that possibility via X, with we are "in"....

Cal is a master at the puppet strings...I wouldn't at all be suprised if Wagner and Flands decision day after the presser weren't somewhat intentional to take some air out of the ball.

Pope needs a recruiting win soon!
