Cal should have been fired 4 or 5 years ago!

The last time we lost the three in a row at home I was a freshman at UK. It was the year following the Runts and we went 13-13, despite having 3 starters back, including Dampier and Riley, who slept in traction in Haggin Hall.

I am trying to decide which game Cal is watching. He didn't want to break up the lineup because of the defense they were playing. This is the defense that was scored on for 8 consecutive possessions. We had a 35 point man on the bench who earlier had picked a guy clean and who had shot only 2 or 3 threes.

We had no FGs the last 2:48. But no change? Even for the last shot? is no one on the bench even coaching either?

The lineup that kicked butt the first 7 minutes of the second half earned that last 4 minutes. Cal had the players out there that deserved to be out there. Those same players did not execute in the last 4 minutes.

Strange that Sheppard had zero points in the first half.  Was almost as if he was focused on running the offense and forgot to be a part of it.

Big Z is still vanilla and needs time.  He shouldn't be the only "true" big in the lineup because he's really not.  He can do work with another 7 footer or Mitchell around him, but he needs that. 

Honestly I think the opposite. With his skill set, I think he would be better off with the floor more spaced with a smaller lineup. Theiro at 4 with him at the 5. He is a very good passer and spread them out and let them go. It’s not like they are stopping people anyways on defense, so him being soft doesn’t change much than what we are currently seeing.

Agree to disagree.  I don't think the team should concede to sucking at defense.

I agree completely, see how it goes, not giving but I don’t think we’re gonna be any good defensively, they just don’t have it in them

I don’t think they should concede to it either. However it is now February and they have seemed to have gotten worse or at least given up more points since they started having two big guys on the floor at the same time since they got healthy. Having two big guys on the floor at the same time really has not done much at all to slow the other team. Theiro at the 4 with 3 guards and any of the big guys IMO is their best lineup.

I wonder if the assistants are afraid to say something to Cal like it appeared that Ulis wanted to.  How often as Call spent a few seconds of a TO to consult his assistants?  It's like he has a board of Yes Men behind him.

No way that could ever happen because Cal wouldn’t have started him.

Maybe Edward’s or Wagner could do that, they are Cal’s starters.

Any coincidence that the team got worse on defense and started losing more games when all three of the 7 footers were healthy and playing? I was worried what would happen back in November/December because I figured it would mess with things. Kyle Tucker seems to think it has.

What's unfortunate, their record is not good with Sheppard in the starting lineup.

I don't think who starts matters or has that much affect on record but if you believe it matters, Sheppard hasn't helped your argument with their record with him starting.
