I never heard of a cylinder foul before last night.

I know that you really want there to be some type of narrative, which involves promises to get Edwards to the league, but if that's the case, Calipari is really doing Edwards a disservice by running h

I was pounding on this through the entire game thread last night. That game was all about physicality. South Carolina was going man on defense, no help and daring UK to beat them in 1 on 1 battles. Th

They punched us in the mouth all night long and we completely wilted.  Gamecocks were impressive and UK was exposed.  Kudos to them.

Another night of learning for the Cats. Put that tape on and watch how S. Carolina played defense.

That was awfully bad.  No one looked good.  Pretty sure Dillingham lead the way in points but he was also forcing a lot throughout the game.  Hopefully this is part of the freshmen slump and only a one game ordeal because rhe Wildcats are on the road again Saturday.

I was impressed with South Carolina, nice team.

It is so bad here in Florence that some of the neighbors and I were outside in the rain complaining to each other about the Cats tonight.

I think the first step in stopping Kentucky, is something the Gamecocks figured out - do not allow them fast break points.  South Carolina's ability to limit Kentucky's chances to get out and run and force them to attempt to run half court offense (where then SC imposed their will and their body strength), had to be one of the coaching staffs keys.

Normally I'd be one to poo poo leaving the floor before there are all zeros on the clock, but given what happened to during the Iowa Ohio State women's game Sunday, it was probably a wise move.   Court storming needs to be a thing of the past.

Absolutely. Been saying this for 25 years.

That was ugly. Defense was bad, and just overall SC just took it to our Cats and used their physicality. Our freshman played like freshman tonight and couldn’t handle how physical SC was.

With that said South Carolina always seems to give our better teams good games when we have to play there. So use this as a learning tool and get better. This is not the last time they will see a physical team, so learn from it and grow.

Seriously, you can’t be surprised can you? I was talking to my brother before the game and I said UK could easily lose first round, stating the offense ain’t always going to be there. Good teams can either rebound or defend, and this squad does neither. We’ve seen this story thousands of times through the years. And while UK has a highly ranked recruiting class, it’s important to note this class as a whole is regarded as one of the weakest of the 2000s. Probably the worst of the last decade.  Point being, this isn’t supreme talent being asked to rise to the top.

Physicality sums it up perfectly. Some of UK players really struggled with it, looking like a pretty soft team ovwrall. Sheppard looked extremely bad and almost like a deer in headlights. I think Big Z got welcomed to the SEC tonight. Wagner really struggled with how physical SC was too.

Just a frustrating game. Cats always struggle there.

Who would've thought before the season started that several of us would've thought/said, "We miss Thiero". His toughness might not have won us the game but I miss it.

Winning is HARD, especially on the road in SEC, hopefully this group will understand that one of these days and not think every game is gonna be a highlight show!

Somebody mentioned playing zone, I’ve said that for a long time but Cal is WWWAAYYY too egotistical to do that for if for no other reason people have been hollering for it, he’d view that as a slap at him!!

I thought the recruiting class was ranked first this time around. Is it  a matter of the talent being mor evenly spread out, or just a down year overall?
